    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Enhance Your Career in Academic Geriatrics Primary Care at Dartmouth Health</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our interdisciplinary Academic Geriatric team to provide support at our assisted living and nursing home facilities in addition to clinic work.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>In this role you will provide primary healthcare to individuals and families and assess and manage the healthcare needs and problems within their specialty area, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention as well as the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness. You will function as part of the provider team to provide care to the department’s panel of patients.</p>\n<p>Your involvement in working within an interdisciplinary team is an essential aspect of this position but also the ability for you to work autonomously. Experience in geriatrics/palliative care is preferred but candidates with other comparable experience and committed interest in geriatrics and palliative care will be considered. This position does require on-call commitments shared amongst the other team providers.</p>\n<p>Dartmouth Health is an academic health system serving patients across northern New England, providing the only Level I trauma center in NH as well as the Norris Cotton Cancer Center and CHaD- the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Health.  As the home to the Dartmouth Institute and Geisel School of Medicine, opportunities for academic appointment and advancement are rich for motivated providers.</p>\n<p>Lebanon and the neighboring town of Hanover, home to Dartmouth College, are located in the “Upper Valley” which straddles the pristine Connecticut River, a national heritage river, and includes 46 towns in western New Hampshire and eastern Vermont. This region boasts excellent local schools, a myriad of cultural opportunities through Dartmouth College, the Lebanon Opera House, and Northern Stage in White River Junction, and an abundance of recreational opportunities.
