Work primarily takes place at North Campus, Edmonton.</p><p>The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, including the School of Mining and Petroleum Engineering (CEE+MP), aims to maintain its position among the top schools in North America. With a present complement of almost 70 faculty members, research in the Department is vigorous and covers all major areas of Civil, Environmental, Mining, and Petroleum Engineering. Our graduate program attracts outstanding students from the best schools worldwide and presently has an enrollment of over 500 students, including approximately 200 PhD students. The undergraduate programs in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Mining Engineering, and Petroleum Engineering enroll close to 1000 students.</p><p>Reporting to the CEE+MP Technical Services Manager (TSM), this role provides technical support for undergraduate Engineering labs, and support for all aspects of research and commercial testing activities in the Department. An extensive knowledge of instrumentation is required to succeed in this role. Supported teaching/research areas may vary but could include Petroleum, Mining, Structural, Construction, Geotechnical, and Environmental Engineering.</p><p>This role requires an individual who craves knowledge and needs to be continually challenged. More specifically, the successful candidate will be required to train from researchers, from other technicians, from outside organizations, and independently to develop the skills required to support assigned projects/labs.</p><p>While supporting any of the above activities, safety will be prioritized above all else. All technicians working for the Faculty of Engineering have a duty to operate in a safe manner and to always be on the lookout for unsafe practices that can be corrected.</p>",
