Our downtown Denver office is seeking to hire a Data Analytics intern   to support our Strategic Planning. This role will use data science and analytic techniques to work on strategic projects that solve problems. You will work directly with Commodity Managers to analyze spend and exploit opportunities to reduce cost and improve working capital. This is an exciting opportunity for you because you will actively manage a spend category and conduct live sourcing events in line with profit plan and overall business objectives. Your objective/goals will be working with diverse sets of structured and unstructured datasets, assess the cost savings opportunity, conduct an eSourcing event, and develop a recommended course of action based on the outcomes of the event. The experiences you gain will be applicable to a broad spectrum of categories in a future commodity management position. Key responsibilities (to name a few): Lead negotiations for the assigned portfolio of spend categories. Utilize cost models to validate commodity strategies and to understand significant cost drivers. Develop an understanding of technology trends, market forces, cost trends, and supplier technology road maps. Act as project manager (develop, manage and implement) for cross functional team to build stakeholder alignment (Technical, R&D, Sales & Marketing, Regional and local teams, etc.) to meet objectives. Contract management - review to ensure specific requirements are present, appropriate review and signing authority is present. Requirements and Preferred Skills ABOUT YOU The ideal candidate is a student enrolled in a supply chain major at an accredited university and is passionate about a career in supply chain.  This individual shall be intellectually curious, passionate about analytics, and willing to learn.  They will be responsible for independently exploring and working with a wide range of datasets and are expected to generate novel insights from the data and deliver them to key stakeholders. Enrolled in an Undergraduate Degree in supply chain management Some relevant experience (to include education) in commodity management Strong intuition for analytical methodologies and a desire to solve novel technical challenges Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and on a team, as well as report findings to executive level individuals Have a tenacious desire to impact the success of the business Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
