Are you looking for a rewarding career that changes children’s lives outside of the classroom?  Developmental Therapists work with children from birth through the age of three and their families to meet developmental goals. Services are provided in the families’ homes in Coles, Cumberland, Shelby, Douglas, Edgar, and Clark Counties. Agency-owned vehicles are provided for work-related travel in addition to a laptop and cell phone for work-related uses. This is a full-time, permanent position. The employee will: Treat everyone with dignity and respect Honor and support rights and confidentiality Promote the best possible health with protection from abuse, neglect and exploitation Engage with honesty, integrity, and ethical standards in actions and communications Comply with applicable laws and regulations to prevent fraud, waste, conflict of interest, and inaccuracy in record-keeping REQUIREMENTS Possess a valid driver’s license with the ability to drive in the daytime or at night Provide proof of the required degree via transcripts from an accredited school Must pass a criminal background check, as required by the Healthcare Worker Background Check Act (225 ILCS 46), and a DCFS Child Abuse and Neglect background check Successfully complete and maintain American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR/First Aid certification ACADEMIC/OTHER REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Special Education, Child Development, Early Intervention, or Elementary Education. 240 hours of direct service to children from birth to three years old under the supervision of an Illinois credentialed Developmental Therapist (the agency can work with the right applicant to obtain this). Completion of the Illinois Early Intervention Systems Training Two semester hours or 30 clock hours/CEU credit hours in each of the core areas: Working with Families of Young Children with Disabilities Assessment of Children with Special Needs Intervention Strategies for Young Children with Special Needs Typical and Atypical Child Development (at least 1 semester hour or 15 contact hours in each area) * " Young Children" is defined as children age birth to three. The documentation submitted must specify this age range. AND can submit proof of training on the use of a formal assessment tool that would allow the provider to perform global evaluations and assessments with children under the age of three SCHEDULE Daytime on Monday through Friday with major holidays and weekends off WAGES $49,000/ year PAY SCHEDULE Every two weeks with direct deposit available upon request BENEFITS Paid Time Off Paid Holidays Offered: Health Insurance, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance, Life Insurance,  Dental Insurance, and Vision Insurance Flexible Spending Account option Profit-Sharing Employee Assistance Program 403 (b) Investment Plan option QUESTIONS?
