Opened in 1954 and designed by Morris Lapidus, it was the most luxurious hotel on Miami Beach, and is thought to be the most significant building of Lapidus' career.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>Responsible to monitor, repair, and perform preventive maintenance program on all the hotel's kitchen equipment. \n<strong><u>Examples of Duties, includes but is not limited to the following</u></strong>\n<strong>:</strong>\n<li> Assist in start-up, shut down, and operation of all kitchen and refrigeration equipment.</li>\n<li> Perform scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance on all kitchen equipment.</li>\n<li> Identify and troubleshoot problems and make repairs accordingly.</li>\n<li>Shut off steam, water, and gas supplies.</li>\n<li> Perform appropriate plumbing requirements for kitchen equipment repairs as needed. </li>\n<li>Perform other related duties as assigned.</li>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.  </li>\n <li>Knowledge of Kitchen HVAC systems to perform basic electric and plumbing repair and maintenance.  </li>\n <li>Knowledge of OSHA standards for chemical use.  </li>\n <li>Skill in the use of hand and power tools.  </li>\n <li>Ability to perform basic/intermediate math skills.  </li>\n <li>Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with guest, management, and staff.  </li>\n <li>Ability to understand commands, questions, and instructions from supervisor and co-workers.  </li>\n <li>Knowledge, understanding, and compliance of policies and procedures, job descriptions, daily memorandums, chemical labels, and other instructions.</li>\n <li>High school education or equivalent.  Trade apprenticeship preferred.</li>\n <li>From entry-level to two years experience as a kitchen mechanic at a complex facility preferred.</li>\n <li>Technical school certificate or trade license preferred.</li>\n</ul>",
