Position Overview Join our team as a Patient Access Coordinator, where you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless patient experiences while supporting the operational success of our organization. Under the guidance of the Patient Access Manager, you’ll oversee critical patient access functions, lead a dedicated team, and contribute to process improvements that enhance quality and efficiency—all while embodying NHA’s mission, policies, and standards. Key Responsibilities As a Patient Access Coordinator, you’ll manage a variety of responsibilities, including: Lead Front-End Operations: Deliver exceptional customer service, oversee accurate patient registration in our electronic system, and ensure precise Time of Service (TOS) payment collections. Support Financial Access: Verify insurance on-site, provide financial counseling, and analyze documents to determine sliding fee eligibility. Drive Quality & Accountability: Audit staff schedules, productivity, and accuracy; generate reports using computer programs; and recommend actionable improvements. Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with billing and healthcare teams to ensure smooth operations and high-quality service delivery. Manage Special Projects: Take ownership of assigned initiatives by setting objectives, prioritizing tasks, and collaborating with others to achieve impactful results. Innovate & Improve: Study and redesign processes to boost efficiency and quality, contributing to new program launches and organizational growth. Enhance Our Reputation: Embrace new challenges, solve problems creatively, and add value to every task you undertake. Flexibility: Occasionally work weekends or evenings as needed, with a commitment to excellence in all you do. Working Conditions Physical Demands: Sedentary role with occasional lifting up to 10 lbs. Involves sitting most of the time, with periodic standing, walking, and repetitive motions (e.g., typing, filing). Equipment: Use of computers, copiers, printers, scanners, telephones, laminators, and more. May occasionally drive organizational vehicles. Environment: Limited exposure to dust, electrical hazards (e.g., office equipment), or minor burn risks (e.g., laminator use). No routine exposure to blood, body fluids, or emergency care (OSHA Category III). Skills/Qualifications Education: Associate’s degree in business preferred (not required). Experience: 2+ years in a medical/clinical office, with hands-on expertise in computerized registration systems and supervisory roles. Skills: Knowledge of medical terminology and billing practices. Proven ability to schedule appointments with precision. Strong leadership, planning, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional communication (written, verbal, and public speaking) and customer service abilities. Professionalism, discretion, and a keen eye for detail. Comfort guiding and supporting registration staff while managing priorities. Ability to build rapport with diverse individuals and thrive under pressure.
