Qualified service technicians are provided safety and technical training with full office support.&nbsp; Once qualified, technicians are assigned a company vehicle, standard tooling, testing equipment, a laptop, phone compensation, and company expense card.<br><br>&nbsp;<br><br>• Adhere to Powell’s current safety and quality standards<br><br>• Complete all site documentation in in a timely manner; including but not limited to, weekly time sheets, Signed service and repair order, materials used and report writing.<br><br>• Provide regular and clear communication regarding work schedule to Field Operations Scheduler and District Service Manager<br><br>• Maintain flexible work hours, which will include over time and periodic weekend support<br><br>• Must be available to travel up to 85% of the year.<br><br>• Comply with Powell‘s standard operating procedures, documentation processes, safety processes and protocols.<br><br>• Coordinate with Powell Project&nbsp; management, customers, vendors, and labor support in a professional and customer-centric manner<br><br>• Able to work in different roles from supporting the Manufacturing Department with in house fabrication, to overseeing small crews on installation projects.<br><br>• Switchgear and PCR installations<br><br>• DC / AC Switchgear<br><br>• Perform performance testing on Powell equipment and components, including but not limited to; insulation testing (megger testing), Ductor, Hi Potential testing, torque tests and mechanical / functional testing.<br><br>• Perform regular inspections of any issued vehicle or calibrated equipment/tools.<br><br>&nbsp;<br><br>Relationships<br><br>• Reporting to District Service Manager<br><br>• Internal relationships include regular interaction with:&nbsp; Clients, Project Management, Manufacturing &amp; Quality Assurance<br><br>Job Requirements<br><br>• Field service technicians are required to have two or more years as a shop and / or field electrical / breaker technician.&nbsp;<br><br>• Exhibit basic knowledge of Electrical Industry manufacturing standards. Specific standards include sections of ANSI IEEE C37 applicable to the design and manufacture of breakers and switchgear.<br><br>• Basic&nbsp; knowledge of the following: ANSI IEEE device function numbers; ampacities of electrical conductors in switchgear applications<br><br>• Basic knowledge of electrical air and surface creepage clearance requirements.<br><br>• Demonstrate basic knowledge in the design and manufacture of bus and structural modification projects.&nbsp;<br><br>• Basic knowledge in writing accurate and complete test reports, project summaries and has the ability to explain basic anomalies found on a given project.<br><br>• Demonstrate knowledge of basic electrical theory and control circuits i.e.: Ohm's Law; Basic AC and DC theory.<br><br>• Basic familiarity with contactor and circuit breaker schematics (Preferred).<br><br>• Basic understanding of hi potential testing (Preferred)<br><br>• Basic understanding of low resistance testing (Preferred).<br><br>• Ability to assist other senior level technicians with maintenance, repair, installation, upgrades and retro fills on Powell switchgear and power control rooms<br><br>• Provide support to services manufacturing group. May consist of construction, installation, wiring and testing.&nbsp;<br><br>• Duties will include local and domestic travel, PCR installation, switchgear installation, PowlVac breakers, also trouble shooting, testing and repair of mentioned items.<br><br>• Basic working knowledge of mechanical and electrical functional testing of circuit breakers and electrical switchgear (Preferred).&nbsp;&nbsp;<br><br>• NICET Level 1 certification (Preferred).<br><br>• HUET / Offshore Survival Training (Will be provided if the candidate is not currently certified).<br><br>• NFPA 70E Trained (Preferred / Training can be provided).<br><br>• OSHA 10 / 30 Trained (Preferred / Training can be provided).<br><br>&nbsp;<br><br>Working Environment<br><br>The Field Service Technician typically performs duties in an industrial environment. This position requires services both locally and across the Continental US.
