Responsibilities include:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Screens patients for the eligibility of and assists with completion of needed applications and paperwork for:\n  <ul>\n   <li>sliding fee scale/discount fee program</li>\n   <li>subsidized health insurance programs</li>\n   <li>charity care programs, including local hospital applications</li>\n   <li>medication assistance programs</li>\n   <li>addressing legal issues</li>\n   <li>other programs that assist with social determinants of health (i.e. food insecurity, housing insecurity, transportation insecurity) </li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Conducts enrollments into programs when possible, and provides referrals to partner agencies, as appropriate.</li>\n <li>Maintains certification as a Certified Application Counselor for the organization and completes all required training(s) to maintain certification.</li>\n <li>Provides Senior’s Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) counseling to Medicare beneficiaries, as requested.</li>\n <li>Educates patients on health center advocacy and voter registration and provides related assistance.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>What We're Looking For:</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or social services related field, preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with Medicaid, Medicare, Health Insurance Marketplace, private health insurance, SNAP, and other local, state, or national social safety net programs strongly preferred.</li>\n <li>Ability to be certified as a Certified Application Counselor (CAC) and Senior’s Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) counselor within one month of hire.</li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, required.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>About Blue Ridge Health:</h2>\n<p>At Blue Ridge Health our mission is to improve Health, inspire Hope, and advance Healing through access to Compassionate, Affordable, and Quality Care.
