Description

The Tahirih Justice Center is a national, nonprofit organization that serves women, girls, and all immigrant survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, trafficking, and other violence. Our whole-person approach to services provides each survivor with free legal support and social services to secure their rights and build stable lives. We translate our client services work into expert training, outreach, and policy advocacy to ensure that systems, laws, and policies protect immigrant survivors from violence and exploitation. Our programs efficiently and effectively leverage donated professional services from a vast network of attorneys, medical professionals, and other experts to serve as many immigrant survivors as possible. By amplifying the experiences of survivors, our mission is to create a world in which all people share equal rights and live in safety and with dignity. Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving, this role will be responsible for soliciting and securing major gifts of $10,000 or more in support of Tahirih’s mission through portfolio management and support for campaigns and events. This role is for an experienced major gifts fundraiser and will work in partnership with subject matter experts, grants managers, and other development staff across the country to accomplish Tahirih’s annual fundraising goals. This is a hybrid position but this individual must be located within commuting distance of one of the following office locations Falls Church, VA, Houston, TX or San Bruno, CA. Primary Responsibilities: Develop and articulate mission-oriented value propositions for major donors and impact investors that honor Tahirih clients in a way that is both survivor centered and trauma informed. Independently build and deepen relationships with major donors and prospects across the country through in-person meetings, telephone, email, and written communication to create opportunities to expand giving. Expand Tahirih’s existing pool of donors by identifying prospects and collaborating on the development and execution of long-term cultivation and solicitation strategies through the employment of moves management strategies. Secure substantial funding for Tahirih Justice Center by soliciting five and six figure gifts Work collaboratively with and strategically curate key donor meetings for staff and leadership as subject matter experts and prepare materials and information for such meetings. Advise and support colleagues throughout the organization in the cultivation of individual donor relationships. Work with the development team, Local Advisory Councils and Board members to identify people aligned with Tahirih’s values who have the capacity to give transformative gifts. Represent Tahirih in key internal & external public-facing activities such as meetings, speaking engagements, and other events aimed at building awareness & fostering relationships. Effectively navigate institutional resources to be an effective Tahirih Justice Center representative with donors. Stay informed of institutional priorities, regional work and achievements, and current updates on key immigration issues. Adeptly manage Everyaction and other processes to ensure contributions, contacts and relationship development are properly maintained in the organization’s CRM database; conduct regular reconciliation with the Director of Individual Giving including tracking donor gift projection, portfolio forecasting and preparing information relevant for regular ROI analysis and data-driven decision making.
