Forestar’s vision is to be the nation’s leading residential lot developer. The Company’s strategic relationship with D.R. Horton, the nation’s largest homebuilder, complements Forestar’s vision of creating neighborhoods that enhance the lives of community residents while creating value for shareholders, trade partners and employees. Forestar is currently looking for a Regional Environmental Program Manager-FG . The right candidate, in coordination with Forestar’s Environmental Compliance team, will be focused on enhancing the stormwater compliance program through refinement of existing concepts for implementation in a designated region of the country. The Regional Environmental Program Manager will also be responsible for routine assessments of division performance with regards to overall compliance and act as a resource to resolve stormwater related issues. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Implement strategies to equip Forestar’s Region and Division personnel with knowledge to achieve & maintain environmental compliance, thereby reducing risk Serve as the subject matter expert for the USEPA State and Federal NPDES construction stormwater program requirements Maintain familiarity with the USEPA/USACE wetlands permitting protocols, US Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) endangered species regulations, and air quality dust control requirements, as they relate to land development and construction Visit each Forestar Division in the Region, at least once per quarter, to walk projects with personnel and review findings, combined with group meetings for training & guidance Create and deliver compliance training content in conjunction with applicable regulations Develop, implement, and administer revisions to Forestar’s NPDES compliance program as regulatory, operational or industry standards dictate Meet with stormwater inspection companies and Best Management Practice (BMP) companies on an as needed basis (including land development contractors who are performing BMP installation and maintenance as a part of their contract) Facilitate updates to Forestar’s Site Inventory List (SIL), for continued proper permitting coverage Review and facilitate written responses to regulatory agencies as needed (utilizing a template format) Collaborate with Forestar’s Legal and Corporate leadership teams to develop improvements to on-going practices and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance Review Erosion & Sediment Control Plans, Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and related records, to ensure consistent compliance with policies of the applicable regulatory agency, as well as Forestar policy and objectives Attend virtual Environmental Compliance Team (ECT) staff meetings every two weeks and provide updates Timely and accurate reporting to Corporate, Regional and Division management Review budgets related to erosion control and stormwater management as applicable Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company Ability to travel overnight , approximately 2-4 nights per month Supervisory Responsibilities May have supervisory responsibilities Forestar Group Inc. is a residential lot development company focused on delivering desirable communities for homebuilders in both established locations and long-term growth markets. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
