Johnson Controls Federal Systems (JCFS) is a specialized team serving as a trusted partner to the federal government. We help modernize U.S. military installations, Department of Defense and other federal agency facilities to be smarter, more resilient, efficient, sustainable, and secure. Location: Norfolk, VA. All work is based at one federal government site in the area. No additional travel required. <br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\"><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Location: </span>Norfolk, VA<span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br>Pay range:</span> $25.00 - $38.00 per hour. Negotiable based on experience. <br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Shift:</span> Primarily day shift, flexible start time between 7:00-8:00am until 4:00-5:00pm, Monday-Friday</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">Benefits:</span></span><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\"> Eligible for benefits on first day of employment<span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br>Vacation:</span> 3 weeks of paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays and 10 standard holidays per calendar year (6.5 weeks in total)<br></span><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">As an <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Electronic</span> <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Security Technician</span>, you will:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\"> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">Conducts primarily installation work with some maintenance and service of commercial Electronic Security Systems (ESS) to include, but not limited to, access controls, intrusion detection, and camera systems. Specific systems include, but not limited to: Genetec, SoftwareHouse C-cure 9000, Lenel, DMP, Bosch, Exacqvision, MDI and American Dynamics.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">Installs security devices and infrastructure at times in accordance with installation plan according to the national electric code, company and customer guidelines</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">Assists with security system programming and setup at times.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">Conducts testing to ensure proper operation of equipment after installation or repairs</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">Conducts testing of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles necessary records for notification of emergency calls.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">May help prepare estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions from supervisor</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">Conduct End-User training.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">Performs other duties as required<br><br></span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">Required Qualifications:<br><br></span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">High School diploma or equivalent</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">Experience installing, inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing of commercial and/or industrial integrated / electronic security systems for complex low voltage intrusion, access control, CCTV and digital recording systems.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, while establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">Capable of using hand and power tools to properly mount and secure equipment</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">Works well unsupervised and also as part of a team environment</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance required. (This involves a background/character, criminal history, employment, and credit check.)</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">Preferred Qualifications:<br></span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">Proficiency working with Softwarehouse C-cure 9000, Genetech, and or Lenel</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: windowtext; font-size: 15px\">Proficiency working with commercial and/or industrial camera systems.
