You&#8217;ll play a key part in creating an inspiring, safe, and innovative learning environment &#8212; helping students bring their ideas to life through practical experimentation and applied engineering.</p><hr><h4><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h4><ul><li><p>Support learning and teaching activities within Engineering labs and workshops.</p></li><li><p>Set up, demonstrate, and maintain a wide range of experimental rigs, tools, and teaching equipment.</p></li><li><p>Provide technical advice, troubleshooting, and guidance to students and academic staff.</p></li><li><p>Maintain and service laboratory equipment, ensuring calibration and repairs are completed promptly.</p></li><li><p>Uphold a strong health &amp; safety culture, including maintaining risk assessments, COSHH documentation, and PAT testing records.</p></li><li><p>Install, configure, and support specialist engineering software and lab computer systems.</p></li><li><p>Procure, manage, and document laboratory consumables, equipment, and inventories.</p></li><li><p>Contribute to accreditation visits, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.</p></li><li><p>Support open days, marketing activities, and prospective student events.</p></li><li><p>Lead and assist with lab upgrades and improvement projects.</p></li></ul><hr><h4><strong>Essential Requirements</strong></h4><ul><li><p>Experience in a technical role within an industrial or higher education (HE) engineering environment.</p></li><li><p>A Bachelor&#8217;s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant Engineering discipline, plus at least 2 years&#8217; relevant experience.</p></li><li><p>Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, equipment, and techniques.</p></li><li><p>Proficiency with specialist engineering software and Microsoft Office tools.</p></li><li><p>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</p></li><li><p>A proactive, organised, and safety-conscious approach to work.</p></li><li><p>Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.</p></li></ul><hr><h4><strong>Desirable Attributes</strong></h4><ul><li><p>Experience supporting students or apprentices in an educational or training setting.</p></li><li><p>A Master&#8217;s degree or membership of a professional institution (e.g. IMechE, IET).</p></li><li><p>Experience developing training materials or lab documentation.</p></li></ul><hr><h4><strong>Why Join Us</strong></h4><p>This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative, technically minded professional to make a tangible impact in engineering education.
