Overview Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington. Dhodapkar lab is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to work in a collaborative environment leading research on immune-therapies and immune function in cancer patients and cancer survivors . The focus of our lab is to study interactions between cancer and immune system in the setting of precursor states, clinical malignancy and during survivorship following completion of therapy. We are actively exploring various immune therapies including checkpoint blocking agents, CARTs and bispecific engagers for T cell redirection. We are interested in a motivated person to focus on studies harnessing interactions between tumor and immune cells particularly to understand the impact of immune aging. The position will provide opportunities to advance translational applications in the areas of immunotherapies and disease modeling, and for collaborations with colleagues in UW and other cancer centers. This position is ideally suited for a candidate who is motivated, enjoys working collaboratively across disciplines, mentoring junior scientific investigators, and contributing to an innovative academic environment to forge new scientific directions. A cover letter or research statement of interest is required to be considered for this position. Responsibilities Handling projects independently, conducting experiments in a timely manner, including literature reviews, experimental design, and data analysis, under the guidance of the laboratory PI. Contributing to the preparation of research reports, publications, and oral presentations. Opportunities for presentations at scientific conferences and symposiums. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: PhD and/or MD in a relevant field (immunology, molecular biology, cell biology, computational biology, or related fields). Track record of productive research, with high quality publications. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. A team player with strong aptitude for collaboration. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in immunology is desired. Additional experience in animal handling, flow cytometry, single cell transcriptomics, gene editing, molecular biology, proteomics, immunohistochemistry, bioinformatics, and/or microscopy is a plus. A cover letter or research statement of interest is required to be considered for this position. The annual base salary range for this position is from $80,172 to $95,014, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. This position may be eligible for relocation assistance. This position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship at this time.
