Description

Overview The Foundation Giving & Grants Manager is a strategic leader responsible for developing, writing, and securing significant philanthropic and government funding to advance Benedictine’s mission and organizational priorities across all communities. This position partners closely with Foundation leadership operational leadership, and Benedictine Support Center teams to translate strategic initiatives into compelling funding opportunities that drive organization-wide impact across all Benedictine communities. This position leads a comprehensive, organization-wide institutional giving strategy, managing a portfolio of high-value foundation, corporate, and government funders. The Foundation Giving & Grants Manager serves as the organization’s expert in institutional funding and is accountable for significant revenue generation, cross-functional leadership, and establishing best practices that strengthen Benedictine’s fundraising performance at scale. Responsibilities Leads the development and execution of an organization-wide institutional giving strategy aligned with Benedictine’s strategic priorities, capital investments, growth initiatives, and community needs. Partners with Foundation and operational leadership to identify, prioritize, and position high-impact funding opportunities. Develops, writes, and submits a high volume of complex proposals, including grants, concept papers, and reports to foundations, corporations, and government entities. Works in close partnership with Foundation Development Directors, community Executive Directors, finance, clinical leaders, and operational teams to develop fundable initiatives. Oversees the full lifecycle of institutional funding: prospecting, proposal development, submission, award management, compliance, and reporting. Cultivates and manages relationships with foundations, corporate partners, and government agencies. Establishes organization-wide best practices, tools, and templates for institutional giving and grant writing. Promotes the Benedictine Mission and Core Values of Hospitality, Stewardship, Respect and Justice by bringing the Mission and Core Values into the day-to-day activities of the company. Performs other duties, tasks, and/or projects as assigned. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED Bachelor’s degree in communications, nonprofit management, public administration, business, or related field. Minimum 5–7+ years of progressive experience in grant writing and institutional advancement. Demonstrated success securing six- and seven-figure grants from foundations, corporations, and/or government entities. Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities. Strong project management and organizational skills. Proven ability to lead cross-functional work in a complex organization. QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED Advanced degree (MPA, MBA, or related field). Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). Experience in healthcare, senior living, or multi-site nonprofit systems. Experience with Raiser’s Edge or comparable CRM systems. Experience with Grants software or comparable systems.
