Description
Tidewater is seeking a talented Industrial Hygienist to join our team in support of the United States Secret Service at their premier training facility in Laurel, MD.
In this critical role, you’ll help safeguard the health and safety of those who train to protect our nation’s leaders. You’ll conduct hazard assessments, implement exposure controls, and ensure compliance with federal safety standards—all within a dynamic, mission-driven environment. About Us:
Tidewater was founded in 1983 as an industrial hygiene (IH) and environmental consulting services provider in Baltimore, Maryland. Today, Tidewater has over 140 employees performing work across three divisions involving environmental consulting, facilities, and construction. Our environmental division includes consulting, remediation, radiological, and IH service lines. Tidewater is headquartered in Elkridge, Maryland. We currently have eight offices throughout the United States including California, Ohio, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania with additional personnel working in Japan, Kenya, and Germany. Our business spans over 75 multi-year government contracts and an average of 1,000 projects annually for Federal, State, municipal, and commercial clients worldwide.
Tidewater’s IH Service Line has been a key component of the business since the beginning, providing lead, asbestos, and mold assessments; hazardous material surveys; abatement monitoring; indoor air quality testing; drinking water surveys; worker exposure assessments; Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Pre-Occupancy testing; and compliance audits for a variety of clients. Key IH Service Line clients include U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, local agencies including Baltimore, Prince George’s, Ann Arundel, Howard counties, City Government, Educational Institutions, and Private Clients (construction firms and architectural firms). Our IH group is comprised of multi-disciplinary staff (CIH, Certified Safety Specialists, Environmental Scientists, etc.) with requisite professional, state, and local certifications.

IH Responsibilities Include:
Conduct inspections; ensuring compliance with safety and Industrial Hygiene standards and regulations; monitors and provides guidance on workplace hazards and corrective actions. Provides consultative services to managers, technical personnel, other government entities and contractors on Occupations Health and Industrial Hygiene. Knowledgeable of EPA and OSHA standards, rules, regulations, fire safety codes, and other guidelines governing facilities management in order to monitor and ensure that the Agency complies with all mandates. Ability to determine levels and types of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); ensuring medical clearance and fit testing procedures, and annual recurring requirements are done; analyzes and documents environmental conditions. Develops sampling methods, protocols and control measures. Provides consultation to management, other Federal, state, local agencies, vendors, consultants and contractors on standards for Industrial Hygiene service. Prepare analysis, reports, budget and procurement justifications, study findings, and recommendations to senior management. Perform various types of indoor testing to include but not limited to Air quality, lead, and noise sampling. What You'll Love:

Proven results in project, staff, and business management. Proficient in MS Office suite. Excellent technical communication, teamwork, business development, and staff management skills.
