Responsibilities</strong></p>\n</div>\n<ul>\n <li>Work a minimum of twelve (12) hours in any given day</li>\n <li>Work outside in all weather conditions and on occasion at elevated heights</li>\n <li>Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety and operations</li>\n <li>Review instructions from Operations Supervisor and discuss with conductor and train crew</li>\n <li>Inspect all railcars</li>\n <li>Receive and transmit information by 2-way radio and telephone</li>\n <li>Read and understand bulletins, work orders, and switch lists</li>\n <li>Assist and instruct train crews to couple and uncouple cars, operate switches, and make minor repairs to railcars, including replacing heavy couplings or air brake hoses</li>\n <li>Work with train crew to ensure accurate movement and placement of cars</li>\n <li>Maintain situational awareness of surrounding area and suspicious activity to ensure rail safety</li>\n <li>Comprehend color and/or hand signals and systems.</li>\n</ul>\n<div style=\"border-bottom:1pt solid windowtext; border-left-style:none; border-right-style:none; border-top:1pt solid windowtext; font-style:normal; font-weight:400; padding:1pt 0in; text-decoration-color:initial; text-decoration-style:initial; text-decoration-thickness:initial\">\n <p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p>\n</div>\n<ul>\n <li>Walk long distances over uneven terrain and ballast</li>\n <li>Climb ladder to get on and off locomotive engine and or rail equipment</li>\n <li>Ability to lift, push, pull, climb, sit, and stand</li>\n <li>Identify and distinguish colors and hear warning signals</li>\n <li>17-19 kgs (37 to 41 lbs) of force to lift switch lever up</li>\n <li>18-27 kgs (40 to 60 lbs) of force to pull switch over</li>\n <li>17-19 kgs (37 to 41 lbs) of force to lock switch lever back in place</li>\n <li>Heavy work, lifting up to 80 pounds occasionally and carrying for 200 feet&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Hand/eye coordination for passing receiving hand signals</li>\n <li>Stoop/bend/kneel/crouch/balance/climb on an occasional basis</li>\n <li>Demonstrate auditory and visual acuity</li>\n <li>Good strength and endurance are required in the arms, shoulders and upper back.&nbsp;For example: performing track switching duties requires:</li>\n <li>A good sense of balance is required as these tasks are performed outdoors where terrain&nbsp;may be uneven and slippery, from product, wet, icy or snow covered.</li>\n</ul>\n<div style=\"border-bottom:1pt solid windowtext; Requirements</strong></p>\n</div>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or GED</li>\n <li>CROR Rules Qualified</li>\n <li>First Aid level 1 certification</li>\n <li>BC Class 5 Drivers license or equivalent</li>\n <li>Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident</li>\n <li>Minimum 2 years conductor experience within Canada</li>\n <li>Certified Locomotive Engineer</li>\n <li>Certified on the application of Distributed Power Locomotives</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to trouble shoot locomotive comm loss, as well as mechanical and system failures</li>\n <li>Demonstrated knowledge and ability to re-sequence locomotives</li>\n <li>Strong understanding and comprehension of gauge readings in a locomotive</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, customers, and railway supervisors&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as the Canadian Railway Operating Rules, General Track Bulletin, TGBO, Daily Operating Bulletins.</li>\n</ul>\n<div style=\"border-bottom:1pt solid windowtext;
