VHB is actively seeking a talented and dedicated Survey Crew Chief for our Atlanta, GA office. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is an extraordinary opportunity to work with a forward-thinking company that values innovation, professional growth, and exceptional project outcomes.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Learn more about our Geomatics team at VHB: Geomatics</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Supervise members of the geomatics/survey crew.</li>\n <li>Guide and redirect geomatics staff to stay on course with budget and schedule.</li>\n <li>Formulate workflow plans to complete various types of geomatics projects based on instructions provided.</li>\n <li>Oversee field operations surveys (e.g., boundary, topographic, control, construction, ALTA/NSPS, engineering, As-Built/post-construction, reality capture).</li>\n <li>Analyze and interpret public records research (e.g., deeds, plans, other pertinent documents for the project).</li>\n <li>Supervise the operation of data collection systems (e.g., manual and robotic total station, digital and auto levels, GPS instruments, reality capture equipment).</li>\n <li>Ensure accurate layout and measurement of land surfaces.</li>\n <li>Ensure proper maintenance of equipment and vehicles.</li>\n <li>Communicate with the public as needed.</li>\n <li>Document all phases of work through field notes, daily reports, and other project documentation.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Skills and Attributes</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Thorough knowledge and extensive experience in the field using surveying equipment (e.g., GPS instruments, manual and robotic total station, reality capture equipment).</li>\n <li>Experience using various survey and/or reality capture software.</li>\n <li>Solid knowledge of geomatics mathematics (e.g., fundamental geometry and trigonometry) and geomatics data collection principles, practices, methods, and procedures.</li>\n <li>Proficient in reading and understanding engineering, architectural, and structural drawings.</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>1+ year(s) of progressive professional land surveying experience</li>\n <li>5+ years of geomatics/professional land surveying experience preferred</li>\n <li>3 years of progressive geomatics/survey crew chief experience in leading and supervising field crew preferred.</li>\n <li>High school diploma or GED.</li>\n <li>Degree in Geomatics, Survey Engineering, or Engineering preferred (college degree can substitute for experience).</li>\n <li>Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D, Carlson, and/or Trimble Business Center desirable, but not required.</li>\n <li>Experience with Trimble Robotics, Trimble GPS, Carlson BRX GPS, Leica Robotics desirable, but not required.</li>\n <li>Must have a valid driver’s license.</li>\n <li>Occasionally willing to travel and stay overnight for assignments outside the local area.</li>\n</ul>\n<p></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Building what’s next, together.</strong></p>\n<p>Our people make the difference.
