    "description": "<p>The adjunct faculty member in the Health Information Management program at Midland College is responsible for preparing and teaching assigned Health Information Management courses as needed. The adjunct faculty member contributes to student learning through effective teaching, timely feedback, and adherence to program, college, and accreditation standards.</p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Instructional Responsibilities</strong></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Teach assigned&nbsp;HIM&nbsp;courses in accordance with approved curriculum and syllabi</li>\r\n\t<li>Deliver instruction in online, hybrid, or face-to-face formats as assigned</li>\r\n\t<li>Deliver course content aligned with&nbsp;CAHIIM&nbsp;accreditation standards and program outcomes</li>\r\n\t<li>Communicate clear learning objectives and expectations to students</li>\r\n\t<li>Develop and administer assessments that measure student learning outcomes</li>\r\n\t<li>Provide timely grading and constructive feedback</li>\r\n\t<li>Post grades in&nbsp;LMS&nbsp;in a timely manner</li>\r\n\t<li>Submit final grades by the established deadline</li>\r\n\t<li>Maintain a positive and effective learning environment</li>\r\n\t<li>Identify at-risk students and implement early interventions to promote success</li>\r\n\t<li>Develop and administer assessments that measure student learning outcomes</li>\r\n\t<li>Teach select dual credit courses, as assigned</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Curriculum and Program Alignment</strong></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Utilize approved course materials and participate in course updates as requested</li>\r\n\t<li>Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and grades, in compliance with college policies and accreditation requirements</li>\r\n\t<li>Participate in the development and implementation of curriculum and evaluation of courses to ensure alignment with accreditation and industry standards</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Professional Responsibilities</strong></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Maintain current knowledge in Health Information Management practices</li>\r\n\t<li>Adhere to Midland College policies, procedures, and faculty handbook expectations</li>\r\n\t<li>Participate in required departmental, divisional, and institutional meetings&nbsp;</li>\r\n\t<li>Communicate regularly with students and College officials, including responding to emails, calls, and requests for meetings</li>\r\n\t<li>Maintain&nbsp;AHIMA&nbsp;membership</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Other Duties</strong></p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n\t<li>Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of adjunct faculty responsibilities</li>\r\n</ul>\r\n",
