Prepare staff reports and RFPs for engineering and construction work. Manage City funding & assist with specialty-funded projects, such as SRF, CDGB, and other State- and Federally funded projects.</li>\n <li>Act as the client’s representative, managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk for multiple assigned projects.</li>\n <li>Oversee construction activities and the City’s Construction Manager to ensure compliance with contract documents, codes, safety requirements, and regulatory standards. Approve payment requests from various consultants and contractors.</li>\n <li>Coordinate with designers, contractors, inspectors, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical and field issues.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Technical & Engineering Oversight</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide PE‑level technical review of plans, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and change orders</li>\n <li>Ensure engineering decisions align with design intent, constructability, and project constraints</li>\n <li>Support value engineering and cost‑saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Schedule & Cost Control</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop, review, and manage project schedules and cost forecasts within the City’s format.</li>\n <li>Track progress, monitor performance metrics, and proactively identify risks and mitigation strategies for City projects.</li>\n <li>Review contractor pay applications, cost proposals, and claims.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Stakeholder & Client Support</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Serve as a trusted extension of the City’s staff, adapting to existing processes and reporting structures</li>\n <li>Facilitate project meetings, provide executive‑level status reports, and communicate key risks/issues clearly</li>\n <li>Support audits, public meetings, and regulatory coordination as required</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Documentation & Compliance</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure adherence to contract terms, agency standards, and permitting requirements</li>\n <li>Maintain comprehensive project records, logs, and documentation for close‑out</li>\n <li>Support project commissioning, punch lists, and final acceptance</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Active Professional Engineer (PE) license</strong> (California Professional Engineer or Structural Engineer)</li>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field</li>\n <li><strong>5-10+ years</strong> of project and/or construction management experience</li>\n <li>Proven experience managing <strong>capital or construction projects</strong> (infrastructure, utilities, facilities, transportation, or vertical construction)</li>\n <li>Strong working knowledge of construction contracts, drawings, specifications, and industry standards</li>\n <li>Experience working in <strong>staff augmentation or client‑embedded roles</strong> highly preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience supporting public agencies, utilities, or large institutional clients</li>\n <li>Familiarity with CPM scheduling, cost control tools, and project management software</li>\n <li>Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in regulated or high‑visibility environments</li>\n</ul>\n<p></p>\n<p>The base pay range for this California position is <strong>$55.00- $70.00 per hour;</strong> Base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
