We are seeking a motivated <strong>Lighting Designer II</strong> to join our <strong>New York office.</strong>&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>The Lighting Designer II performs lighting design and oversees documentation of a variety of project types, sizes and market segments. Senior position within the lighting department with responsibility to manage mentoring, workload and daily tasks of junior staff at a project level. They have passed the LC exam and completed the required work experience to successfully gain LC professional licensure. Individual may also get IALD certification.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p><ul><li>Delegate and review lighting calculations completed by less experienced lighting staff to understand lighting requirements and product selections.</li><li>Teach staff calculation software and methods for completing calculation process.</li><li>Lead lighting design on projects of all sizes and multiple market segments and across multiple offices, often leading different team members on overlapping project schedules and phases of design.</li><li>Extensive understanding of lighting design criteria for typical and highly specialized spaces/building types</li><li>Review products and evaluate components, design quality of materials, issues of maintenance, product quality and provide recommendations for projects. Review comments/questions of less experienced lighting staff on product selections and characteristics</li><li>Design within project budget and establish VE options with an understanding of cost impact (including general mark-ups, labor costs, etc.) for projects. Coordinate with cost estimators and review detailed cost estimates completed during design and bids during construction.</li><li>Extensive knowledge/experience in designing lighting control systems including documentation of one line diagrams, details, specification, sequence of operations and integration with other building systems.</li><li>Oversee lighting design coordination with architects and other disciplines for RCP coordination, design intent, W/SF for mechanical, etc.</li><li>Lead lighting presentations with clients and project stakeholders in a clear and concise manner</li><li>Mentor less experienced lighting design staff with lighting design concepts, project design process, technical expertise, etc.</li><li>Edit all lighting and lighting control specifications</li><li>Complete QA of other projects/lighting design work within the office</li><li>Perform in-house and on-site construction administration tasks</li><li>Review projects and complete minimal documentation utilizing AutoCad and Revit, and create mark-ups for drafting by others</li><li>Attend seminars and continuing education programs and lead continuing education for less experienced staff.</li><li>Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.</li></ul>",
