    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Summary: </span></p>\n<p>The VDC Modeler II assists the Field Design Lead and Electrical Systems Designer by following BIM Manager-established standards and workflows for electrical commercial construction projects. The VDC Modeler II will design electrical layouts, create and place annotations, manage sheets and revisions, plotting, and export views and sheets.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you’ll do: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Layout of Electrical Systems</span>\n<ul>\n<li><br>Create electrical room layouts</li>\n<li><br>Develop homerun schedules and layouts</li>\n<li><br>Review single line / riser drawings</li>\n<li><br>Design large conduits &amp; all raceways for power and low voltage systems</li>\n<li><br>Create families and project content to be used in models by VDC modelers</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Create shop drawings</span>\n<ul>\n<li><br>Review and set up detailed shop drawings for prefabrication and field installation.</li>\n<li><br>Create drafting views and detailed drawings.</li>\n<li><br>Maintain project drawings and details through addendums, bulletins, and updates.</li>\n<li><br>Produce and manage record drawings.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Model Designs</span>\n<ul>\n<li><br>Review equipment submittals for modeling and manage project templates, blocks, details, and plotting standards.</li>\n<li><br>Perform daily model management, including administration and maintenance.</li>\n<li><br>Model designs in AutoCAD or Revit according to job specifications.</li>\n<li><br>Update models with coordination changes and reflect as-built conditions for record-keeping.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Communicate with field and other trades for BIM process</span>\n<ul>\n<li><br>Participate in coordination meetings and document changes and action items.</li>\n<li><br>Communicate with team members outside of meetings as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Technical Software Knowledge</span>\n<ul>\n<li><br>Develop relationships with BIM/VDC software vendors.</li>\n<li><br>Create training guides for software used by field and office teams.</li>\n<li><br>Provide training on VDC software for field and office personnel.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">What you’ll need for success:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><br>Associate’s degree in engineering or electrical design.</li>\n<li>A minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial electrical construction and designing electrical systems with AutoCAD and/or Revit.</li>\n<li><br>Ability to independently design electrical room layouts and understand project schedules, electrical risers, and system layouts.</li>\n<li><br>General construction knowledge, capability to read manufacturer’s shop drawings, and equipment cut sheets.</li>\n<li><br>Willingness to travel 15% to local job sites.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Founded in 1912, Continental Electrical Construction Company is the number one electrical construction company in Chicago and its suburbs, as well as one of the largest in the Midwest.
