We are looking for passionate, driven individuals to join our team focused on <em>Delivering Solutions and Improving Lives</em>.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>We are looking for a passionate and dedicated <strong>Senior Environmental Specialist</strong> to join our Ecology group in Morristown, New Jersey.   This position provides excellent growth opportunity for candidates to work with a team of diverse professionals on a variety of projects in the public and private sector.  The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience in:</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepare environmental permits in New Jersey/New York</li>\n <li>Opportunity to work on complex environmental projects for public and private clients</li>\n <li>Lead wetland field investigations, delineations and functional value assessments.</li>\n <li>Lead threatened and endangered floral and faunal habitat assessments and targeted species surveys.</li>\n <li>Prepare technical studies and reports.</li>\n <li>Prepare wetland and ecological permit applications in accordance with Federal and state requirements with emphasis on New York and New Jersey regulations.</li>\n <li>Prepare NEPA and NJ Executive Order 215 EIS, EA and CED documents</li>\n <li>Compile scope and fee for projects and or tasks</li>\n <li>Assign tasks, communicate task expectations, and track status of assigned tasks</li>\n <li>Complete project tasks within deadlines and work within allotted project budgets.</li>\n <li>Responsible for QA/QC process.</li>\n <li>Assist with mentoring junior environmental staff</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor's degree in environmental science, ecology, botany, wildlife management, natural resources, or related field.</li>\n <li>10+ years of relevant experience.</li>\n <li>Certified Wildlife Biologist or Professional Wetland Scientist preferred, but not required.</li>\n <li>Strong northeastern flora and fauna identification skills.</li>\n <li>Experience with US Army Corps of Engineers, New Jersey and New York permitting.</li>\n <li>Experience working on NYDOT and NJDOT projects preferable.</li>\n <li>Strong technical writing and communication skills.</li>\n <li>Experience in managing junior staff, tasks and projects</li>\n <li>Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment</li>\n</ul>\n<p>NV5 offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, PTO, 401(k) and professional development/advancement opportunities.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>#INDHP</p>\n<p>#LI-JC2</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The pay range for this New York position is $110,000- $130,000 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. This information is provided in accordance with NY Senate Bill S1326. Base pay information is based on market location.
