    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>Nemours is seeking an Orthopedic Tech I (Full-Time), to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Lakeland, Florida.</p>\n<p>Schedule: &nbsp;5 days/40 hours a week. &nbsp;Occasional travel requirements to all satellite locations.&nbsp;</p>\n<p>This position is responsible for:</p>\n<p>All casting procedures and application/approval of soft goods.&nbsp; To provide assistance to the provider whenever needed, to expedite the patient care process.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Responsible for all casting and Orthopedic equipment.\n  <ul>\n   <li>Application and removal of all types of casts, splints and soft goods.&nbsp; Modify casts as needed in clinic and in hospital when necessary for the patient benefit.</li>\n   <li>Instruct patient, parents/legal guardians in appropriate use and care of casts and Orthopedic equipment.</li>\n   <li>Responsible for inventory of all casting materials, splints and soft goods.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Skills\n  <ul>\n   <li>Ability to verbalize descriptions of Orthopedic conditions with basic understanding of anatomical structures and relationships with one another.&nbsp;</li>\n   <li>Ability to apply, adjust, and remove all common orthopedic devices, using a manual or standard practice as a guide.</li>\n   <li>Knowledge of theory and application of skin or skeletal traction.</li>\n   <li>Knowledge of the proper application of aseptic techniques in dressing change, removal of sutures or staples and in setting up surgical fields.</li>\n   <li>Ability to interpret simple fractures and dislocations on X-ray films.</li>\n   <li>Ability to perform in an operating room environment as first and second assistant or scrub technician under the direct supervision of a surgeon.</li>\n   <li>Ability to supervise and train other certified, eligible Orthopedic Technologists.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Assist with rooming of patients.\n  <ul>\n   <li>Obtain vital signs</li>\n   <li>Capturing and entering patient information into EMR.</li>\n   <li>Ensuring appropriate documentation such as x-rays and laboratory reports are available for provider’s review.&nbsp;</li>\n   <li>Rooming of patients into exam rooms with preparation for exam and assisting provider with exam.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>&nbsp;Ensure accurate ICD-9 and CPT-4 codes are recorded.</li>\n <li>&nbsp;Assist the provider with procedures as necessary.</li>\n <li>Under the direction of the provider will schedule PT/OT, surgery and diagnostic tests to include pre-authorization and notification of patient.</li>\n <li>Prepare, clean and stock exam rooms for clinic.</li>\n <li>Ability to cross cover in other clinical departments.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Job Requirements</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School Diploma required. &nbsp;Specialized (1 year of training beyond high school).</li>\n <li>Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years' experience required.</li>\n <li>American Heart Association BLS Certification required upon hire.</li>\n <li>Travel requirements to all satellite locations.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Nemours Children's Health offers a comprehensive and competitive benefit package which includes:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive base compensation in the top quartile of the market</li>\n <li>Annual incentive compensation that values clinical activity, academic accomplishments and quality improvement</li>\n <li>Comprehensive benefits: health, life, dental, vision</li>\n <li>403B with employer match.</li>\n <li>Licensure, CME and dues allowance</li>\n <li>Not-for-profit status; eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness</li>\n <li>For those living and working in Florida, enjoy the benefit of no state income tax.
