Calibration Technicians at this level typically can calibrate low-end process instrumentation in up to three (3) disciplines (e.g., Electrical, Dimensional or Pressure).  Proficiency and expertise are determined in accordance with Transcat’s technician skills progression matrix.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work with other technicians within the lab to learn calibration fundamentals, which can include measurement, temperature, electronics, etc.</li>\n <li>Identify and utilize appropriate measurement techniques</li>\n <li>Maintain calibration standards</li>\n <li>Working knowledge and competency in at least three 3 disciplines (dimensional, electrical, torque, temperature, pressure, etc.)</li>\n <li>Perform calibration work within a laboratory setting and/or while supervised at a customer on-site</li>\n <li>Fulfill duties safely under working conditions, in keeping with Company requirements and standards</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned</li>\n <li>Travel requirement: 25-50% of work schedule</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Primary Objectives</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Learn fundamental calibration skills and techniques</li>\n <li>Develop skills necessary to perform calibrations independently</li>\n <li>Develop skills necessary to advance to Calibration Technician II position, which includes a working knowledge and competency in at least four (4) disciplines and expert competency in one (1) discipline </li>\n <li>Deliver on Transcat’s Quality Policy (QAC-F01-001)</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities</strong><strong>, and Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Successful completion of assigned training materials through on-the-job training, online content, LMS, and classroom led instruction</li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal and customer service skills </li>\n <li>Excellent attention to detail</li>\n <li>Self-motivated learner with the ability to learn new skills related to calibration and calibration processes</li>\n <li>Ability to take direction and learn from feedback</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate well with supervisor, solve problems effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team</li>\n <li>3+ years driving experience with a valid driver’s license and acceptable driver history</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Education and Experience</strong></p>\n<p>Required: Associates degree from college or technical school; or at least one (1) year related experience and/or training. or equivalent combination of education and experience</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Preferred:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Previous experience or training in electronics or machining</li>\n <li>Basic mathematical skills including algebra, geometry, and statistics</li>\n <li>Familiarity with basic hand tools</li>\n <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office computer software including Word, Excel, and Outlook</li>\n <li>Organizational and time management skills</li>\n <li>Experience in PMEL, PME, TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, GPETE, Electronics, GCAMS, or Avionics </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p>\n<p>The physical demands described here are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
