    "description": "<p>Milieu Staff</p>\n<p>Residential Level 2 – Substance Use &amp; Mental Health</p>\n<p>Location: Florida<br>Pay: Starting at $16.50 per hour<br>Status: Non-Exempt | Hourly<br>Schedule: Flexible – Day, Evening, Overnight, Weekday &amp; Weekend shifts available based on facility needs</p>\n<p>Job Summary</p>\n<p>The Milieu Staff provides direct care, supervision, and recovery-oriented support to adults in a Residential Level 2 substance use and co-occurring mental health treatment program. Staff maintain a working knowledge of the Client Manual, which outlines the Modified Therapeutic Community (MTC) model—a structured, recovery-oriented approach that uses the community as the primary agent of change to support behavioral change, personal responsibility, and long-term recovery.  This role supports a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment in accordance with Florida DCF (65D-30) and CARF standards.</p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide continuous supervision and monitoring of residents</li>\n<li>Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), promoting dignity and independence</li>\n<li>Conduct rounds, bed checks, and behavioral observations</li>\n<li>Support daily schedules, programming, and recovery activities</li>\n<li>Assist with crisis prevention and de-escalation</li>\n<li>Monitor and document client self-administration of medications per policy (non-licensed role)</li>\n<li>Observe and report medication issues or adverse reactions</li>\n<li>Complete accurate shift notes, incident reports, and logs</li>\n<li>Maintain client rights, confidentiality, and professional boundaries</li>\n<li>Assist with admissions, orientations, and discharges as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Minimum Qualifications</p>\n<ul>\n<li>High school diploma or GED</li>\n<li>Must be at least 18 years old</li>\n<li>Ability to pass DCF Level II background screening</li>\n<li>Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends</li>\n<li>Basic documentation and computer skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Preferred Qualifications</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience in residential substance use or mental health treatment</li>\n<li>Peer Specialist Certification (Florida Certified Peer Specialist or equivalent) preferred</li>\n<li>Behavioral Health Technician or related certification preferred</li>\n<li>Experience with co-occurring disorders</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Work Environment</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Residential behavioral health treatment setting</li>\n<li>Direct client contact in a structured recovery environment</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">GENERAL STANDARDS</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">1)         Is familiar with New Hope Therapeutic Community model rules and regulations</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">2)         Completes responsibilities within designated timeframes.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">3)         Meets residential program standards established CARF, local and government-related entities.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">4)         Demonstrates knowledge of New Hope policies and procedures</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">5)         Addresses clients and other staff members appropriately</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">6)         Communicates client needs and concerns to the appropriate staff member, if necessary</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">AGENCY REQUIRED STANDARDS</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">7)         Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to all types of issues related to client diversity, including cultural, ethnic, language, gender preference, sexual orientation, physical handicap, and spiritual diversity.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">8)         Keeps work area clean and organized.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">9)         Attends and actively participates in staff meetings.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">10)       Able to increase work pace and prioritize to accommodate emergencies or rush assignments.</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">11)       Clarifies assignments/responsibilities with administrative staff.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px\">The work is primarily sedentary. Typically, the employee will sit to do the work.
