With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service.</p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Joby Aviation is seeking a highly organized, passionate individual to join our Testing team. As part of this team, you will contribute to the development and the commercialization of flight-critical components and systems for VTOL electric aircraft. The Joby Aviation team is made up of extremely talented, hardworking, proactive, and hands-on individuals, operating in a very fast-paced and rewarding environment. We are looking to expand this team with like\u0002minded individuals looking to make a mark in the transportation industry.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Support the testing on the external charging system for the aircraft, including but not limited to environmental, mechanical, and electrical tests.</li>\n <li>Setup, execute, and monitor validation, certification, and reliability tests at component and system level as per approved test plan.</li>\n <li>Build and maintain custom test jigs for testing charging ports, battery cooling system, and battery charging systems.</li>\n <li>Work closely with Test Engineers and Equipment Design Engineers to provide support in assembling, maintaining, and operating in-house designed test rigs, stands and fixtures.</li>\n <li>Support Test Engineers with assembling e-boxes, contactors, and fuse assemblies with minimal supervision.</li>\n <li>Install industry-standard instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition systems, such as but not limited to foil strain gauges and accelerometers.</li>\n <li>Build wiring harness, soldering of electronics, and overall electrical craftsmanship.</li>\n <li>Aid in the development of technical work procedures and process documentation.</li>\n <li>Maintain a clean workspace and inventory of tools and equipment.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>H.S Diploma or GED and 3+ years equivalent industry work experience.</li>\n <li>Experiences with external charging systems that provide high power, high voltage, and high current.</li>\n <li>Experience with hydronic systems, building coolant loops, and performing leak tests.</li>\n <li>Experience with handling and operating near high power density cells, modules, and packs.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of basic safety steps working around battery (risk prevention and mitigation).</li>\n <li>Experience with reading mechanical design and manufacturing drawing.</li>\n <li>Experience with component assembly and systems integration of electronics.</li>\n <li>Positive attitude and willingness to work individually and as part of a team.</li>\n <li>Excellent problem-solving & continuous improvement skills, analytical, multi-tasking.</li>\n <li>Hands-on attitude and detail-oriented work habits in testing environment.</li>\n <li>Ability to operate and maintain a wide variety of instrumentation and analytical tools, hand and power tools and HV equipment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Desired</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with UL, IEC, SAE testing and certification.</li>\n <li>Experience with CAN and Ethernet communication protocols for charger control and diagnostics.</li>\n <li>Experience with high-power DC charging systems and power electronics (rectifiers, converters).</li>\n <li>Experiences with thermocouples, current and voltage sensing.</li>\n <li>Hands-on experience with Linux command-line tools (file operations, process management, networking utilities) and simple Bash scripts to automate test setup, log collection, and diagnostics.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional Information</h2>\n<p>Compensation at Joby is a combination of base pay and Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). The target base pay for this position is $36/hr - $52/hr.
