    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">POSITION SUMMARY</span>:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Under the general direction of the Recreation Coordinator performs recreation work in one or more of the following areas:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Official, referee, or umpire</span> in basketball, baseball, flag football, soccer games for league or tournament play, and/or softball.</li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Scorekeeper</span> in basketball, softball, baseball, and/or kickball.</li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Site supervisor</span> in activities and sporting events and with participants, coaches, spectators, parents, and possibly officials (18 yrs +)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">SUPERVISION EXERCISED</span>:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Supervises participants, students, and spectators, and facility according to league and sport rules.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</span>:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Official, referee, or umpire</span></em> –</li>\n<li>Ensures guidelines, rules, and sportsmanship are enforced; maintains safety of staff, participants and citizens.</li>\n<li>Officiates assigned games for leagues and tournament play.</li>\n<li>Assists in field/court set up and take down; reports field/courts issues the Recreation Coordinator or Recreation Manager.</li>\n<li>Conducts safety and related inspections.</li>\n<li>Prepares reports and other written documents as needed.</li>\n<li>Resolves problems and conflicts on-site; reports issues with coaches, players, parents, or spectators to the Recreation Coordinator or Recreation Manager/Site Supervisor.</li>\n<li>Complies with all Draper City policies and procedures.</li>\n<li>Performs other related duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Scorekeeper</span></em><em> – </em></li>\n<li>Keeps score of assigned games.</li>\n<li>Ensures rules are followed.</li>\n<li>Assists the Referee or Umpire in game management.</li>\n<li>Complies with all Draper City policies and procedures.</li>\n<li>Performs other related duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n<li><em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Site Supervisor</span></em><em> –</em></li>\n<li>Dispenses rosters and materials for participants, coaches, and instructors of each sport/activity.</li>\n<li>Assists in organizing participants into teams for each sport/activity, i.e., provides schedules for coaches of each team sport/activity.</li>\n<li>Organizes and sets up facilities when necessary for practices, games, or activities.</li>\n<li>Transports equipment in a city vehicle and assists in distributing equipment.</li>\n<li>Supervises and assures schedules are followed accurately during league play or activity; assists in coordinating, supervising, and assigning officials.</li>\n<li>Ensures guidelines, rules, and sportsmanship are maintained.</li>\n<li>Resolves problems and conflicts on-site; reports issues with coaches, participants, spectators, or parents on the field/in the facility to the Recreation Coordinator or Recreation Manager</li>\n<li>Complies with all Draper City policies and procedures.</li>\n<li>Performs other related duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS</span>:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Age – </span>\n<ul>\n<li>16 years or older</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Education –</span>\n<ul>\n<li>None</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Experience – </span>\n<ul>\n<li>None, however preference is given to those with knowledge of sports activities.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Licenses and Certifications –</span>\n<ul>\n<li>Valid Utah Drivers License</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES</span>:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Knowledge of –\n<ul>\n<li>Sports programs and principles of recreational programming</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Skilled with –\n<ul>\n<li>Excellent customer service skills</li>\n<li>deescalating situations, with supervisor help</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n<li>Ability to –\n<ul>\n<li>Work in a team-oriented environment</li>\n<li>Quickly, respectfully, and effectively resolve conflicts in a collaborative manner</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10pt\">Position requires working outdoors. Tasks require a variety of physical activities. Regularly required to talk, hear, see, walk, sit, stand, reach, use hands/finger to feel, handle, and grip, climb or balance and stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability and discriminating thinking and creative problem solving. May be confined to small spaces to perform work. Regular exposure to wet and/or humid conditions. (Performance of duties may require working in varied weather conditions such as extreme cold or hot conditions.) Frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and dusty or greasy conditions. Frequent exposure to high levels of noise.
