This position will plan freight from our Distribution Centers as well as outside freight by creating a daily run list ensuring all freight is delivered timely, efficiently, safely and in the most cost-effective way possible.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>JOB DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Responsible for efficient and cost-effective scheduling of deliveries and routing of Rural King trucks</li>\n <li>Communicate daily plan clearly to the driver team as well as our stores and other customers</li>\n <li>Schedule pickups of returned materials from the stores</li>\n <li>Coordinate with the Transportation Manager any driver issues to create a plan for load recovery</li>\n <li>Seek outside line hauls from vendors or carriers to eliminate driving with empty miles and to build on the profitability or Rural King Transportation </li>\n <li>Provide customer service and satisfaction to our stores</li>\n <li>Ensure that all DOT regulations are followed </li>\n <li>Monitor driver performance and discipline </li>\n <li>Partner with Safety and HR to preform driver coaching's and other safety and HR communications to our fleet </li>\n <li>Partner with Truck Shop Management ensure our equipment is safe and DOT compliant and driver maintenance issues are resolved. </li>\n <li>Oversee on call responsibilities to ensure driver issues are resolved in a timely manner</li>\n <li>Use discretion and independent judgment in daily decisions while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. </li>\n <li>May be required to cross train and perform other duties.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2></h2>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>At least 2 years of transportation experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.</li>\n <li>Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.</li>\n <li>Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel. </li>\n <li>Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn Transportation systems.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of logistics, including carriers, shipping policies and procedures</li>\n <li>Strong understanding of Department of Transportation rules and regulations preferred</li>\n <li>Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.</li>\n <li>Excellent customer service skills</li>\n <li>Excellent conflict resolution skills.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.</li>\n <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li>\n <li>Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated behaviors must reflect integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Yes</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. </li>\n <li>Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. </li>\n <li>Must be able to access and navigate each department across facilities.</li>\n <li>Must be able to verbally communicate effectively with others (in-person and via electronic devices).</li>\n <li>Must have close visual acuity.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The pay range for this position is $44,000 - $58,000 annualized and is bonus eligible. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as relevant geographic location, education, certifications, experience, job level, shift, and organizational needs.
