    "requisitionDescription": "<p style=\"margin-left:149.9pt;\" data-pasted=\"true\"><u>Job Summary</u></p><p><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:9.25pt;\">This position is responsible for supervising and participating in the construction and maintenance of stormwater infrastructure. The Construction&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;Maintenance Superintendent assigns work in general terms, and completed work is reviewed for accuracy and propriety of the final results. This position responds to emergencies during non-duty hours, and must be available for standby /on-call duty on a rotating schedule.</p><p><br></p><h2 style=\"margin-left:149.9pt;\"><u>Essential Functions</u></h2><p><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:8.8pt;\"><strong><u>Essential&nbsp;</u></strong><strong><u>Functions:</u></strong><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong><em>These&nbsp;</em></strong><strong>are&nbsp;</strong><strong><em>intended only&nbsp;</em></strong><strong>as&nbsp;</strong><strong><em>illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties&nbsp;</em></strong><strong>does&nbsp;</strong><strong><em>not exclude them from the position.</em></strong></p><p><strong><em>&nbsp;</em></strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:8.65pt;\">Supervises, assigns and reviews work; trains and instructs crew members in work methods and ensures that proper safety procedures are followed; evaluates job performances; checks and reviews completed work; counsels employees and resolves internal complaints; recommends disciplinary action when necessary; interviews applicants and recommends for hire.</p><p><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:8.3pt;\">Participates in the installation, repair and maintenance of stormwater infrastructure; operates large equipment and department vehicles; inspects work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, standard practice, and regulatory requirements; coordinates work with other divisions and departments.</p><p><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:8.45pt;\">Maintains log of daily activities, special projects and records of problems found and actions taken; processes work orders.</p><p><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:8.1pt;\">Maintains utility truck stock and inventory check.</p><p><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:8.1pt;\">Prepares necessary reports and assists with completing accident reports.</p><p><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:8.0pt;\">Ensures proper maintenance of equipment; conducts daily maintenance checks and services; keeps track of vehicle and equipment hours/miles.</p><p><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:7.95pt;\">Supervises confined space entry in accordance with policies and procedures; secures area; uses blower to ventilate the confined area; sets up tripod/wench; sets up all safety gear; procures entry permit.</p><p><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:7.6pt;\">Provides quality customer service in accordance with Rockdale County standards.</p><p><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:7.65pt;\"><strong><u>Additional Duties</u></strong><strong>:</strong></p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:7.55pt;\">Employees in this classification may be expected to perform any related duties as required by proper authority.</p><h1 style=\"margin-left:149.9pt;\" data-pasted=\"true\"><u>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</u></h1><p><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:8.9pt;\">Considerable knowledge of the materials, methods, and techniques used in construction, maintenance and repair activities related to stormwater infrastructure, erosion and sedimentation control measures, and landscape restoration.</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp;Considerable knowledge of the proper operation and basic repair and maintenance of the construction equipment, machinery and trucks used in assigned section.</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp;Considerable knowledge of the geographical layout of Rockdale County.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:8.35pt;\">Knowledge of department policies and procedures.</p><p style=\"margin-left:7.9pt;\">Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"margin-left:7.9pt;\">Knowledge of safety practices and procedures.</p><p style=\"margin-left:7.9pt;\">Knowledge of confined space procedures.</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp;Skill in the operation of electrical and mechanical equipment.</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp;Skill in planning, organizing, prioritizing and delegating work activities.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp;Ability to use a personal computer and other modern office equipment.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp;Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.</p><p style=\"margin-left:.1in;\">Ability to read and interpret construction plans, equipment manuals, and related literature.</p><p>&nbsp; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, other County employees and the public.</p><p>&nbsp; Ability to interact with customers regarding their services.</p><p>&nbsp; Ability to lift, stand, bend, crouch, stoop, kneel, grasp, finger, push, pull, and occasionally climb ladders in order to perform a variety of job-related tasks.</p><p>&nbsp; Ability to use tools and equipment that require a high level of dexterity.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp; Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds, unassisted.</p><p style=\"margin-left:6.2pt;\">Ability to see, including color, depth, and texture perception.</p><p><br></p><h1 style=\"margin-left:145.0pt;\"><u>Working Conditions</u></h1><p><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:6.0pt;\">Work is primarily performed outdoors. Employees are exposed to noise, dust, dirt, irritating chemicals, machinery with moving parts, and occasional inclement weather.
