    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Job Summary: </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Demonstrates through behavior Decatur Morgan Hospital’s mission, vision and values.</p>\n<p>Additionally, under the direct supervision of licensed nurses, the critical care technician performs various duties to assist in the care of patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.  These duties include, but are not limited to, bathing, mouth care, ambulation assistance, toilet assistance, feeding, measuring vital signs and blood glucose, transporting, ECG and phlebotomy.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<h1>Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions</h1>\n<p>1.     Perform basic patient care with minimal supervision and within established policies</p>\n<p>2.   Accurately check and record vital signs</p>\n<p>3.   Collect specimens as directed</p>\n<p>4.   Promptly answer call lights and provide necessary assistance in a timely manner</p>\n<p>5.   Report patient changes, problems, complaints or requests to appropriate personnel</p>\n<p>6.   Assist in the maintenance of equipment</p>\n<p>7.  Perform Electrocardiogram (ECG)</p>\n<p>8.  Perform phlebotomy </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<h1>Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:</h1>\n<p>·         Uses common sense and special medical skills to care for the sick</p>\n<p>·         Understands technical information from supervisors, charts, reference books,  manuals and labels</p>\n<p>·         Uses eyes, ears, hands and fingers with skill</p>\n<p>·         Acts quickly in an emergency, rendering appropriate life-saving measures</p>\n<p>·         Communicates with people</p>\n<p>·         Change from one duty to another frequently</p>\n<p>·         Follow and/or give precise instructions</p>\n<p>·         Records and interprets information accurately</p>\n<p>·         Able to care for patients of all ages</p>\n<p>·         Current in BLS</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Reasoning, Mathematical and Language Development are indicative of the general level of development required to do this job.  Some, but not necessarily all, areas mentioned in this section will be included in this job.</strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Reasoning Development:                                 </strong></p>\n<p>Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.  Deal with problems involving several variables in or from standardized situations.</p>\n<p><strong>Mathematical Development:</strong></p>\n<p>Add and subtract two digit numbers.  Multiply and divide 10’s, and 100’s by 2,3,4,5.  Perform the four basic arithmetic operations with coins and as part of a dollar.  Perform operations with units such as cup, pint, and quart; inch, foot, and yard; or ounce and pound.</p>\n<p><strong>Language Development:          </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Reading</strong>: </p>\n<p>Read and understands instructions, safety rules, etc. Records data via paper and electronic means.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Speaking</strong>: </p>\n<p>Speak with poise, voice-control, and confidence, using correct English and well-modulated voice.</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>RELATIONSHIPS TO DATA, PEOPLE AND THINGS:</strong></p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Data:                            </strong></p>\n<p>Compiling: Gathering, collecting and classifying information about data, people or things.
