You join a community that respects who you are away from work as much as what you do while at work. </p><p><br /><b><i>Where Your Career is a Force for Good!</i></b></p><p>The Community Volunteer Engagement Senior Specialist mobilizes regional teams of volunteers to deliver impactful mission across Red Cross lines of service. This role will grow local community volunteer capacity and design new volunteer opportunities to meet mission, community, and evolving volunteer needs. This person will work as a player/coach directly engaging volunteers in their assigned jurisdictions and supporting volunteers and volunteer specialists across the region to meet mission needs in their areas.</p><p></p><p><i><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></i></p><p></p><p><b>Manage the Community Volunteer Workforce</b></p><p><i>Grow the community volunteer capacity, engage external partners and the community to meet local needs for community based programming including preparedness programs, restoring family links, veteran services and other regionally approved services</i></p><ul><li><span>Liaise with community programming leads (EDs and CVLs) to understand and meet workforce needs</span></li><li><span>Community Services Volunteer management</span></li><li><span>Create visibility and engagement of internal volunteers, youth groups, and partners in chapter opportunities</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Opportunity Design</b></p><p><i>Designing and share new and non-traditional volunteer opportunity types to mobilize the community</i></p><p>•       Manage the VS workforce systems and processes to ensure recurrent and one-time community services are staffed fully</p><p>•       Serve as a subject matter expert in the design of volunteer opportunities to best meet the needs of the community, organization and volunteer</p><p></p><p><b>Continuous Improvement</b></p><p><i>Support the organizational learning and adoption of new and non-traditional volunteer opportunities with line of business</i></p><ul><li><span>Data and reporting on Community Services volunteer impact</span></li><li><span>Program and process improvement</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Volunteer and Employee Matrixed Management</b></p><ul><li><span>Directly lead teams of volunteers locally and regionally</span></li><li><span>Support peers across the region who may lead local community volunteer teams</span></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li><span>Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, organizational development, public administration, or related field.</span></li><li><span>Experience: 3 years in workforce planning, strategy, or volunteer management; experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations preferred.</span></li><li><span>Skills: Strong volunteer management and team development skills; ability to translate requests and ideas into actionable plans and processes; excellent communication and collaboration abilities; ability to work within matrix environments and manage ambiguity, proficiency in Microsoft Office and workforce analytics tools.</span></li></ul><p><b>Other Requirements:</b></p><ul><li><span>Ability to travel as needed and respond during major disasters.</span></li><li><span>Familiarity with volunteer engagement models and workforce development best practices.</span></li></ul><p></p><p></p><p><b>BENEFITS FOR YOU:</b></p><p>As a mission-based organization, we believe our team needs great support to do great work.
