This position entails the operation of roller equipment and other paving activities to achieve daily production goals on road construction projects, often transferring from one task to another whenever the situation requires. If you meet the job requirements outlined below, <strong>H&K</strong> would be happy to consider you for this position.</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Why work for H&K Group, Inc.? </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive salary commensurate with experience</li>\n <li>100% Company-paid Health Benefits</li>\n <li>401(k) Savings and Investment Plan</li>\n <li>Tuition reimbursement programs available to qualifying employees for approved programs</li>\n <li>Additional training programs including on the job, online through H&K Academy, manufacturer offered training, and more</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong><strong> </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies</li>\n <li>Operate the roller machine on road construction projects</li>\n <li>Perform daily checks on equipment to ensure proper operating condition</li>\n <li>Maintains equipment by greasing properly and checking fluids daily (oils, coolant, fuel level) and keeping clean and free of debris</li>\n <li>Ensures equipment is safely and securely parked an stored</li>\n <li>Notifies shop foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs</li>\n <li>Levels earth to fine grade specifications</li>\n <li>Paving Duties:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Assists with pre-run markings</li>\n   <li>Uses a paving lute to fine grade before roller man compacts</li>\n   <li>Operates vibratory plate as needed</li>\n   <li>Shovels asphalt as required</li>\n   <li>Direct traffic around work area as required</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Skills, Education, and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with roller machines on highway road construction projects</li>\n <li>Experience raking, shoveling, and operating the screed</li>\n <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li>\n <li>Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions</li>\n <li>Problem solving</li>\n <li>Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed</li>\n <li>Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution </li>\n <li>Four years of experience with roller machines on highway road construction projects</li>\n <li>Experience with other heavy equipment commonly used in highway road construction</li>\n <li>OSHA or other relevant safety certifications</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Regularly required to stand</li>\n <li>Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms</li>\n <li>Frequently required to walk</li>\n <li>Occasionally climb or balance</li>\n <li>Occasionally talk or hear</li>\n <li>Frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds</li>\n <li>Vision abilities include depth perception and ability to adjust focus</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts</li>\n <li>Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles</li>\n <li>Frequently exposed to outside weather conditions</li>\n <li>Frequently exposed to vibration</li>\n <li>Frequently exposed to high, precarious places</li>\n <li>Noise level is usually very loud</li>\n</ul>\n<p></p>\n<p><strong>H&K </strong>provides complete heavy civil contracting and construction materials solutions with safety, speed, quality, efficiency, and value.
