As a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center, we provide leading-edge treatment for stroke recovery. Our facility also offers specialized services in bariatric surgery, robotic surgery, minimally invasive spine procedures, and advanced orthopedic care.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Fort Sanders Regional is part of Covenant Health, East Tennessee’s largest nonprofit health system and a Becker’s “Top 150 Places to Work in Healthcare.” Covenant Health includes nine hospitals and nearly 150 service locations, offering employees a comprehensive benefits package with tuition reimbursement, student loan assistance, certification bonuses, and leadership development programs.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary:</strong></p>\n<p>Provides leadership and oversight for specialty area.  Acts as a resource for the specialty area.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Develops service goals.</li>\n <li> Responds to specialty/emergency/needs as needed.</li>\n <li> Functions as a resource person and team leader.</li>\n <li> Demonstrates competence in critical skills to include delivery of care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the population served.</li>\n <li> Evaluates service inventory and adjusts.</li>\n <li> Orders specialty items.</li>\n <li> Serves as liaison with medical staff and other customers.</li>\n <li> Serves as expert, resource, and consultant for specialty area.</li>\n <li> Coordinates maintenance of service equipment.</li>\n <li> Maintains proficiency for specialty area.</li>\n <li> Researches alternatives for usage of equipment/instruments.</li>\n <li> Provides feedback (verbal and written) on staff performance.</li>\n <li> Refers personnel conflict management to supervisor, manager, or director.</li>\n <li>Develops and implements educational training programs for personnel.</li>\n <li> Assumes departmental charge responsibilities as needed (weekends, 3-11, holidays, etc.).</li>\n <li> Recommends staff assignments to provide optimal customer satisfaction.</li>\n <li> Identifies learning needs with staff.</li>\n <li> Monitors schedule in advance to prevent conflicts and coordinates needs.</li>\n <li> Problem solves and trouble shoots specialty conflicts (equipment, instrumentation, etc.).</li>\n <li> Researches and submits proposed budget purchase items each year and as needed.</li>\n <li> Maintains/updates specialty charges.</li>\n <li> Maintains, develops, and updates specialty surgeon preference cards.</li>\n <li> Develops specialty instrumentation trays and procedural packs.</li>\n <li> Meets with staff monthly to discuss staff needs, goals and problems as associated with the services.</li>\n <li> Provides at least eight (8) credit hours of in-service per year.</li>\n <li> Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.</li>\n <li> Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Education:</strong>          </p>\n<p>None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Minimum Experience:          </strong></p>\n<p>Minimum of four (4) years professional experience.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Licensure Requirement:       </strong></p>\n<p>Valid Tennessee RN license or current and active national Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification established by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). </p>",
