Description
Do you want to grow your career as a senior project engineer in the field of Civil Engineering? If so, Nobis wants you!
Nobis Group is looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer (Civil) for our team based in Scarborough, Maine. The ideal candidate will be passionate about real opportunities to be the project lead for the planning and design of civil engineering projects, while establishing, maintaining, and developing client relationships and tracking project schedules and budgets.
We are looking for an experienced professional to assist and lead on Site-Civil design and permitting and subdivision projects in Maine. Since Nobis is 100% employee-owned, you will be empowered in your work and part of a culture that values ideas, voices, and growth. If you are motivated to make a difference through meaningful work, mentorship, and outreach, this role is a natural fit.
About Nobis
Every day at Nobis, we see how community-centered solutions improve public health and support community revitalization and growth. We’re an integrated consulting firm that solves engineering challenges for public and private projects of all sizes, and we’re looking to grow our team. As an ESOP—a 100% employee-owned company—you’ll be joining a great place to work with an active, supportive culture, steady project loads, and a strong focus on collaboration and embracing positive atmosphere.
What You'll Do
Be at the table to develop client relationships and pursue projects as a project team leader for the planning and design of civil engineering projects. Projects may include site development, environmental remediation, roads, highways, landfills, foundations, structures, railroads, airports and bridges, harbors, channels, dams and tunnels, utilities, and solar projects to name a few. Take ownership of project deliverables, working with junior staff members, support project management with documentation of technical and cost data for project and field work, working with and managing subcontractors, preparing cost estimate, and leading the team to meet project schedule and budget. Prepare, review, and modify technical reports, specifications, plans, engineering calculations and design drawings, construction schedules, cost estimates, and other relevant project documentation. Visit project sites and evaluate ongoing construction practices by meeting and talking with prime contractors and subcontractors, owners, regulators, and other consultants along with preparing written construction inspection and observation summaries. What You'll Need
A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university. A minimum of 10 years experience is required of related experience and/or training. Licensure as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) is strongly preferred. Must possess a valid driver's license, have own transportation, and be able to travel for project site visits, meetings, data collection, and training. Travel is highly dependent on project work requirements. In addition to the position requirements stated above, preferred skills/experience include:
Willingness to teach and mentor junior staff. Desire to develop relationships with clients based on mutual trust and respect. Recent experience with Site-Civil Design and Permitting for commercial, industrial, and institutional development or redevelopment projects in NH and ME. Why Nobis:
We offer highly competitive salaries, generous paid time off, and a flexible hybrid schedule that allows our employee-owners to maintain a comfortable balance between life and work. We also offer standard benefits like health/dental/vision insurance, FSA HCA/dependent care, 401k, parental leave, and 7 floating holidays in addition to paid time off. An additional 2 days may be used for community involvement and volunteering.
As part of your career advancement, you’ll have access to professional development, mentorship, and leadership programs designed to help you grow.
In addition to our extensive benefits package, you will have access to all the advantages that come with working for an ESOP.
Nobis is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
