    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Vacancy Number:<span> </span></span>24-2026</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position: </span><span> </span>Therapist</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Program:<span> </span></span>Sarnia site</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Status:<span> </span></span>1 Full-time contract (18 months)</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">QUALIFICATIONS: </span></p>\n<p>Master of Social Work and current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or a Master of Counselling Degree currently registered with current registration with the College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">SALARY RANGE:             <span> </span></span>Therapist Grid</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">HOURS OF WORK</span>:         35 hours/week including evening hours are required to meet the position requirements</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">STARTING DATE:             September 2026</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>This position will provide assessment, counselling and treatment to individuals or groups managing a moderate mental illness and/or a personality disorder that require short-term services.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>This position will carry a short-term caseload for individual counselling with treatment planning for solution focused, time limited services. As well, the incumbent will act as a facilitator for groups in the program.</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Reporting to the Manager of Integrated Client Services, the incumbent will be responsible for the following functions: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>providing counselling to clients diagnosed with a  mental illness or a personality disorder using evidence informed practices for treatment.</li>\n<li>mutually creating plans of care with clients that maximize personal strength using a combination of social work strategies for symptom management, relapse prevention, acceptance and change, behaviour modification, and harm reduction.</li>\n<li>providing comprehensive risk assessment and follow-up care for individuals that experience suicidal ideation.</li>\n<li>Facilitating therapeutic, time-limited, evidence informed groups that will address the post discharge needs of clients to reduce ED presentations and impact symptom management.</li>\n<li>promoting specialized care through mental health treatment and crisis planning.</li>\n<li>Maintaining the short-term nature of the service, while assessing individual needs for additional services or termination modifications to promote the well-being and safety of those receiving services; and using cultural sensitivity when developing and providing services to clients.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>The candidate will work with other professionals using strong problem solving and communication skills.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>A valid driver’s license, and use of a vehicle, which will be used in conducting agency business, is required. </p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Application process:</span></p>\n<p>Interested applicants are encouraged to submit your resume and covering on BambooHR by March 19th, 2025</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>Qualified internal candidates will be given a preference as per Article 11.00 (f) of the Collective Agreement.</p>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">POSTING DATE: June 12, 2026</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">CLOSING DATE:  June 22, 2026</span></p>",
