Description
Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Vice President, Software Engineer to join our team and drive the architectural review and remediation of our SecureTransport environment. This role is critical to enhancing the stability, security, and efficiency of our file transfer operations. The successful candidate will have extensive experience with Axway SecureTransport and a proven track record in stabilizing complex environments.
Responsibilities
Perform a comprehensive health and architecture review of SecureTransport, including edge/DMZ configuration, server farms, certificates, transfer routes, and user provisioning. Identify and address single points of failure, anti-patterns, and end-of-life issues, and propose solutions to improve stability and security. Define and execute a remediation roadmap, simplifying deployment, enhancing high availability, and aligning with Axway-supported reference architecture. Validate and improve disaster recovery procedures, including backup and restore processes, and create tested runbooks for seamless operations. Harden the DMZ/perimeter posture, ensuring no unnecessary inbound exposures and a secure relay pattern. Patch, upgrade, or re-platform components as needed to reach a supported, stable baseline, and explore containerized deployment options. Establish proactive monitoring and alerting for transfer flows, with a focus on failed transfers and anomaly detection. Produce clear and comprehensive documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration standards, and operational runbooks. Lead structured knowledge transfer and shadowing sessions with the internal team to ensure a smooth transition and ongoing support.
Qualifications
Current Axway certification in SecureTransport (Axway University / SecureTransport product-line certification) is mandatory and will be validated. A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with Axway SecureTransport, including deployment, configuration, clustering, and troubleshooting, is essential. A demonstrated ability to stabilize and remediate complex, troubled SecureTransport environments is a key requirement. Deep knowledge of secure file transfer concepts (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS, AS2, PeSIT), PKI, certificate management, and partner onboarding is crucial. Strong experience in designing high availability, disaster recovery, and operational resilience for enterprise MFT platforms is preferred. Proficiency in the underlying platform layer, including Linux administration, networking, DMZ patterns, and database management, is necessary. Excellent documentation skills and the ability to transfer knowledge effectively to internal staff are vital. Prior experience in financial services or a regulated, high-availability environment is an asset. Familiarity with containerized SecureTransport deployment and Axway components like Transfer CFT and Sentinel is advantageous. Experience integrating SecureTransport with enterprise monitoring, scheduling, and ITSM tools is desirable. Compensation expectations: $100-$125 per hour
