Relief International is a 60-year-old international NGO alliance that is the product of mergers and alliances between four organizations. Today, Relief International is comprised of Relief International, Inc., Relief International-France, Relief International-UK and Relief International-Europe, all of which are led by a single senior leadership team. Position Summary : Oversee the implementation of all mental health and psychosocial support activities Key Responsibilities The Mental Health assistant is responsible for. Develop detailed action plans for mental health and psychosocial support activities Provides clinical management of mental health conditions. Organize MHPSS trainings for health workers and community members. Conduct/participate in Psychosocial needs assessment among the affected population. This will include baseline assessments consistent with IASC guidelines and MHPSS WHO assessment toolkit (e.g., rapid community-based assessment of psychosocial needs). Organize referrals for mental health cases. Follow up on mental health cases to ensure adherence to treatment and provide necessary support. Work closely with other partners in the protection and health sectors to address needs of mental health patients. Strengthen mental health and psychosocial support for fellow health workers. Join or initiate interagency coordination mechanisms for the provision of mental health and psychosocial support Provide guidance to the Psychosocial support officer to plan and implement community-based PSS activities including community-initiated activities and discussion groups, ensuring a specific focus on women, girls and youth. Assist in the identification of gaps and opportunities for MHPSS and assist in the development of interventions addressing the identified needs. Provide regular reports on activities to date and indicators achieved in line with the Monitoring and Evaluation tools developed. Support the implementation of relevant trainings for the MHPSS team, humanitarian actors, key community members and others as relevant. Ensure maintenance of confidential documentation and records of all psychosocial activities implemented. Collaborate with other agencies on the ground and participate in meetings on behalf of RI and in the interest of the beneficiaries. Policy compliance – Mandatory Reporting Policy (MRP) Ensure any violations of the RI Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Code of Conduct are reported to the Program Manager. The reporting of violations is an obligation on the part of all staff members. Assist where necessary in undertaking activities that aim to prevent the occurrence of sexual abuse and exploitation of beneficiaries by RI and other humanitarian workers Qualification and Minimum Requirements: Applicants should. Certificate or diploma in psychology, counselling, social work or behavioral science Have at least 2 years working experience preferably in a resource limited and hostile environment setting. Previous working experience in an INGO setting is an added advantage Effective communication skills and empathy have very good record keeping, accurate reporting skills Able to work with minimum supervision Experience working in refugee settings in South Sudan GENERAL CONDITIONS : Applicant must not be a person with criminal records or have been convicted of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), Sexual Harassment and Child Abuse cases.
