Description
JOB PURPOSE
Instructors will provide academic enrichment and instruction to program scholars in a foreign language.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides academic support to Upward Bound participants from target schools. Designs and delivers meaningful and relevant academic lessons in the subject area assigned and/or certified. Addresses individual learning styles (increasing strengths and decreasing weaknesses). Initiates, facilitates, and moderates classroom discussions. Prepares course materials, such as lesson plans, in-class assignments, and handouts. Informs students of the procedures for completing and submitting class work. Returns assignments to students in accordance with established deadlines. Prepares and/or proctors pre-/post- examinations. Evaluates and grades students' class work, assignments, and papers. Prepares and delivers lectures to students on relevant topics. Advises students on academic and vocational curricula and on career issues. Plans, evaluates, and revises curricula, course content, course materials, and methods of instruction. Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Director (or designee).
