    "description": "<h2>Job Description & Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Persistent Systems is looking for a Logistics Associate. You will be responsible for all incoming and outgoing shipments at Persistent Systems’ New York City headquarters.  </p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Position Responsibilities </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Shipping and receiving all packages, including accepting and signing for deliveries from distributors, as well as organizing and planning outbound orders within our ERP system.</li>\n <li>Maintaining warehouse inventory and organization, including sorting materials according to characteristics such as size, type, style, and product code under FIFO (First-In-First-Out) procedures; conducting daily inventory of products, conducting cycle counts, and reporting data to the Logistics Lead and or Inventory Analyst.</li>\n <li>Promptly receiving in deliveries and sorts and stocks receivables within the 24-hour window</li>\n <li>Maintains accurate reporting of daily moves, scanning inventory, and counting accurately</li>\n <li>Picking, packing, and shipping of customer orders loading the contents to each package that is shipped through the ERP system</li>\n <li>Monitoring warehouse jobs related to customer orders – kitting product from production</li>\n <li>Maintaining inventory of shipping supplies and replenishing inventory as needed</li>\n <li>Documenting and maintaining shipping and receiving logs</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Job Qualifications & Experience </h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or equivalent</li>\n <li>Experience with packaging and shipping product and other valuable goods</li>\n <li>Experience in a warehouse/storeroom, with knowledge of warehouse functions</li>\n <li>General knowledge of legal and safety procedures for handling of goods</li>\n <li>Literacy in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook</li>\n <li>Strong communication skills</li>\n <li>Must be able to lift 50lbs</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with information management systems: ERP/MRP</li>\n <li>Knowledge of shipping integrated systems such as UPS, FedEx, DHL - Domestics and International</li>\n <li>Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement practices and procedures</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The base pay for this role will be $25.50 an hour. Eligibility for yearly discretionary bonus.
