Description

Summary: A Group Lead is a working leader. S/he performs tasks substantially similar (in terms of nature and level) as the employees under his/her leadership. In addition, the Production Supervisor has responsibility for assisting the Production Manager in carrying out certain aspects of the business responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Provides work instruction and prioritizes work of their team to ensure integration quality, production objectives and schedules are met. The Technical Lead provides training and performs complex technician functions including performing complex builds and complex troubleshooting with or without a build plan. Coordinate and monitor the work load and flow of all technicians to ensure that standards for efficiency, quality, safety and housekeeping are maintained, serves as a backup to all functions in the work area Training of employees as it pertains to company work methods, processing procedures, and skills development. Serve as first level technical escalation for area technicians and point of problem resolution as appropriate for production process issues. Escalate issues and problems to management and/or appropriate support groups as necessary. Prepare, build and test product, package and deliver. Assist with skill assessment of talent in the hiring process Administer performance assessment process. Assist the organization with new process development. Assembles, repairs, reworks, or calibrates units, subassemblies or components to meet operational specifications or tolerances. Conducts tests and inspections of products and processes to evaluate quality, performance, and compliance to specification. Reads test schedule, work orders, performance specifications, wiring diagrams, or schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used. Tests functional performance of systems, subassemblies and parts under specified environmental conditions such as pressure, force, temperature change, vibration, and humidity. Trims and prepares components including but not limited to wire cables, connectors, and resistors by applying solder and various adhesives as specified by prints and procedural documents. Uses a variety of equipment including but not limited to power supplies, multimeters, leak detection/vacuum systems, pressure generators, volt meters, ohmmeters, ovens, soldering equipment, microscopes and a variety of precision hand tools. Performs or inspects component replacement and rework on units, sub-assemblies and repair/exchange assemblies as required. Reads and works from drawings, blueprints, schematics, work orders, wiring diagrams and written instructions with limited supervision to assemble, rework, or reassemble units. Connects electronic component, subassembly, or part to test instrument, such as ohmmeter, voltmeter, ammeter, or oscilloscope, or to automatic or computerized test equipment, and turns switch to activate test equipment. Reads instrument dial or scope, or observes viewing screen, that indicates resistance, capacitance, continuity, and wave pattern or defect, such as short circuit or current leakage. Confers with engineers, technicians, value stream leader, and others regarding testing procedures and results to resolve problems. Examines component, subassembly, or part for defects and records type and quantity of defects. May analyze and troubleshoot test results on defective units to determine cause of failure. Adjusts, repairs, or replaces electronic component parts to correct defects and to ensure conformance to specifications. Explains assembly testing procedures or techniques to other workers as needed. Maintains employee records. Administer disciplinary measures as required with approval of Production Manager, Plant Manager, Human Resources Business Partner. Maintain an effective dialogue with all employees to foster good employee morale and to handle employee complaints. Maintain labor and production records as required.
