PART-TIME | SEASONAL
This is where we’re supposed to give you a quick introduction about working at Jay Peak. Except there’s nothing quick about what your experiences will be or what our expectations are. SUMMARY
Meets the events public, explaining offerings and rates associated with concert and event admissions. Processes and issues the appropriate ticket, upselling whenever possible. Gives general information about current event and other services available on and off property.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
Explains ticket types to customers, sells appropriate group or individual ticket, receives cash or does credit card transaction. Answers questions pertaining to the current event or ongoing series of events. Orients guests, explaining where they can get the goods and/or services that they desire, both on and off property. Receives telephone calls, giving a variety of information, such as weather conditions and driving directions to the mountain. Prepares cash up at the end of the day, submitting necessary paperwork as backup. Other duties as assigned, which could be directly related or unrelated to original position.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs. Comfortable working outside in all forms of weather.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The specific vision requirements of this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions, working near moving mechanical parts and exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to vibration and occasionally working in high or precarious places, extreme cold, extreme heat and near risk of electrical shock. The noise level in this work environment is usually very loud.
RESORT CONDITIONS
This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multilevel buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom area and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
