With a community focus, Baptist Health Citizens Hospital offers a full range of services to meet the diverse needs of our patients, including quick, lifesaving response for those experiencing chest pain or stroke symptoms; comprehensive emergency room care; surgical services; cardiovascular care; diagnostic imaging; digestive health care; orthopedics; a sleep disorder center.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Baptist Health Citizens Hospital Offers Great NEW Competitive Pay and Great Benefits Package that Includes:</u></strong></p>\n<p>Medical, Dental, Vision</p>\n<p>403(b) Retirement Savings Plan</p>\n<p>Health Savings Account (HSA)</p>\n<p>Flexible Spending Account (FSA)</p>\n<p>Paid Time Off (up to 5 weeks to start)</p>\n<p>Life Insurance</p>\n<p>Extended Leave Plan (ELP)</p>\n<p>Family Care (childcare, elder care, pet care)</p>\n<p>Paid Parental Leave</p>\n<p>Pet Insurance</p>\n<p>Car Insurance</p>\n<p>Educational Benefits including tuition reimbursement & monthly payments to help pay down any graduated school debt</p>\n<p><strong><u>ALL Benefits Start Day One</u></strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Position Summary</strong> Performs moderately complex general laboratory testing in the area(s) of licensure under the direction of a Medical Technologist.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Functions</strong> • Performs and reports routine laboratory testing following established policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality of laboratory results within established timeframes. • Verifies results and quality control data for accuracy and reliability. • Performs, evaluates, and documents all quality control, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting procedures. • Demonstrates computer system proficiency including ordering, resulting, and inquiry functions. • Ensures proper utilization and preparation of reagents and supplies. • Communicates critical results to the patient caregiver. • Regularly reports all unusual findings to the immediate supervisor. • Regularly reports work activities and pending work to the oncoming technologist. • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures. <strong>Other Related Functions</strong> • Assumes one or more of the following responsibilities under the supervision of the Medical Technologist or Team Leader: supply/reagent ordering or preparation, primary operator of minor instrumentation, projects, or teaching/training. • Performs specimen collection procedures, specimen receiving and processing as required. • Answers the telephone and greets guests to the department. • Maintains current job knowledge in order to effectively instruct students or other personnel. • Responsible for an active role in the laboratory quality improvement program including performance and evaluation of key quality indicators. • Follows the established policies and procedures to meet regulatory and accrediting agency requirements. • Practices infection control and safety practices and keeps a clean and organized work area. • Maintains confidentiality of patient record, hospital and departmental matters at all times. • Perform other duties as directed under supervision of Medical Technologist or Team Leader.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<strong>Education/Training</strong> Graduate from an approved school of medical laboratory technician. Associate degree in related field. \n<strong>Licensure/Certification</strong> Current Alabama license as a Clinical Laboratory Technician  Certified in area(s) of laboratory where assigned. \n<strong>Experience</strong> None.
