Description
Assists with the daily operations of a department or work unit. Develops program guidelines and policies and may be responsible for the implementation of major programs or projects within a department.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Compliance:
• Assists the Executive Director in the planning and implementation of school-wide programs, policies, goals and objectives.
• Oversees the Special Education Department, Response to Intervention (RTI) programs, and 504 plans, ensuring compliance with district, state, and federal regulations, ensuring students receive appropriate support and services, and ensuring staff members follow all district, state, and federal guidelines.
• Supervises the placement of pre-service teachers, interns, and practicum students.
School Culture & Student Support:
• Oversees school programs that support academic achievement and student well-being.
• Manages school, district, and state guidelines for student discipline and promotes a positive school culture through proactive behavior supports and relationship-building.
• Analyzes student attendance and discipline data to inform school-wide decisions and strategies.
• Coordinates and manages programs such as Honors Assemblies, special programs, and school-wide events to celebrate student achievements and foster a sense of community and school spirit.
• Works closely with the Student Leadership Council to encourage student voice and engagement.
• Collaborates with school partners and community organizations to support student learning and enrichment opportunities.
Instructional Leadership & Data-Driven Decision Making:
• Provides instructional coaching to teachers, helping to implement best practices and improve classroom instruction.
• Supports the implementation of the academic curriculum and use of innovative instructional practices
• Analyzes student achievement data to inform school-wide decisions and instructional strategies.
• Supervises teachers and staff, providing guidance, professional development, and performance evaluations.
Operational Oversight:
• Manages duties and daily operations, ensuring smooth school functions and safety procedures.
• Ensures that University and District policies are communicated and implemented.
• Oversees attendance and truancy.
• Ensures accurate records and required reports are prepared and maintained in a timely manner.
• Coordinates and implements required standardized testing programs including but not limited to district and state assessments.
• Assists in maintaining instructional materials, including establishing and maintaining a system of school-wide textbook and technology accountability.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in education or an education-related field and five (5) years of appropriate experience required. State certification in Administration/Supervision, Educational Leadership.
