They are highly skilled in inserting peripheral IVs and accessing Port‑a‑Cath and PICC lines, as well as evaluating vein health for peripheral lab draws and chemotherapy treatment needs. These nurses provide patient education on catheter placement, use, and ongoing maintenance—both in the clinical setting and for those discharged with an accessed port or PICC line for infusion.
