Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.</p>\n<p><strong>What are we looking for?</strong></p>\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Engineering Technician</strong>&nbsp;is responsible for performing a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under direct supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures, observations and testing of construction materials such as soils, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel placement, fireproofing and asphalt.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Salary &amp; Benefits Information</strong></p>\n<p>In addition to competitive compensation packages, when working with Intertek you can expect benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, generous vacation / sick time (PTO), tuition reimbursement and more.&nbsp;</p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&nbsp;<strong>What you'll do:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Operates testing equipment and conducts testing&nbsp;(example: Soil, concrete or other), and provides assessment of data through reporting</li>\n <li>Performing field and laboratory testing of soil samples and concrete specimens.</li>\n <li>Documentation of daily activities and testing results and preparation of field reports.</li>\n <li>Works utilizing drawings, specifications and diagrams</li>\n <li>Working outdoors on a year-round basis on various construction sites.</li>\n <li>Make detailed observations and gives limited interpretation of results</li>\n <li>Maintains detailed documentation and data from test results</li>\n <li>Operates a calculator to calculate mathematical test results</li>\n <li>Communicates effectively with client and project teams</li>\n <li>Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work</li>\n <li>Clean / maintain equipment and perform site clean up&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Interface with contractors and clients.</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must have Basic Math, Calculator and Computer Skills</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal &amp; written communication</li>\n <li>Must be able to read and understand work plans</li>\n <li>Must be able to work off shifts and overtime</li>\n <li>Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record (required)</li>\n <li>Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently. Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.</li>\n <li>Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound.</li>\n <li>Ability to kneel and squat occasionally</li>\n <li>Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time</li>\n <li>Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)</li>\n <li>Ability to climb occasionally</li>\n</ul>\n<p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>&nbsp;Preferred Requirements and Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>H.S. Diploma or GED, preferred</li>\n <li>Experience performing field and/or laboratory construction materials testing is preferred, but not required</li>\n <li>ACI/ICC/WisDOT certifications are preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Intertek: Total Quality.
