Dosimetrist – Radiation Oncology (Lancaster, CA) (Onsite, Hybrid, or Remote)

City of Hope’s growing national system includes its Los Angeles campus, a network of clinical care locations across Southern California, a new cancer center in Orange County, California, and treatment facilities in Atlanta, Chicago and Phoenix. As a Dosimetrist in Radiation Oncology, the primary responsibilities involve performing CT simulation and treatment planning using 3-dimensional computer-assisted techniques. Under the guidance of a staff physicist, the role includes conducting general patient dosimetry, incorporating hand calculations for external beam therapy, and calculating doses for irregularly shaped fields. Additionally, the Dosimetrist prepares Total Body Irradiation data for treatment and conducts quality assurance checks on the treatment planning system to ensure accuracy and safety in radiation therapy procedures.
Tentative Schedule: Full‑time staff may choose to work onsite, hybrid, or remote for this position; the department highly prefers onsite presence, if possible.
As a successful candidate, you will:
Independently assess the necessary dosimetry and physics requirements for fulfilling the physician’s prescription
Recommend treatment strategies to the physician
Perform 2, 3-D, and IMRT treatment planning
Perform treatment planning for HDR and interstitial brachytherapy (depends on facility)
Digitize and import all beam shaping blocks at the completion of the simulation process
Contour normal tissues according to physician instructions

Hourly Pay Range: $60.46/hr - $80.72/hr - $100.98/hr
