The Admission department at Saint Michael’s College invites applications for the position of Associate Director of Admission. The College seeks a dynamic, experienced professional to join its Admission Leadership Team. This role is instrumental in shaping and executing enrollment strategies while ensuring operational excellence across recruitment and application processes. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who thrives in a fast-paced, student-centered environment and demonstrates a strong commitment to ethical and inclusive enrollment practices.
Responsibilities
The Admission department at Saint Michael’s College invites applications for the position of Associate Director of Admission. The College seeks a dynamic, experienced professional to join its Admission Leadership Team. This role is instrumental in shaping and executing enrollment strategies while ensuring operational excellence across recruitment and application processes. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who thrives in a fast-paced, student-centered environment and demonstrates a strong commitment to ethical and inclusive enrollment practices.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Admission Team Leadership and Management
Manages Admission Counselors: Directly supervises admission counselors, including onboarding, training, performance feedback, and ongoing development. Implements and maintains training programs to ensure consistency in recruitment practices and application review standards across the team. Serves as a leader on the Admission Team: supports a positive and accountable team culture and serves as operational lead when the Director of Admission is unavailable. Represents the College at off- and on-campus events and professional associations, ensuring conduct aligns with the College’s mission and values. Stewards the College’s resources responsibly: maintains accurate records of expenses and demonstrates sound judgment in the use of College resources. Understands and maintains data compliance and confidentiality: manages data with a high level of integrity and adherence to legal and professional standards. Demonstrates a multicultural awareness and contributes to cultivating an inclusive, diverse, and respectful college community. Supports the Mission of Saint Michael’s College and the Edmundite Catholic heritage.
Territory Management & Recruitment Travel
Provides strategic input into territory design, recruitment planning, and market analysis in collaboration with the Director of Admission and Vice President for Enrollment. Supports implementation of recruitment travel strategies and ensures counselors are prepared and trained for effective territory management. May oversee a limited recruitment territory or specialty population as assigned, with emphasis on supporting high-impact or complex markets. Participates in recruitment travel, events, and outreach activities as needed to support institutional goals. Guides students, families, and other supporters throughout the college process, particularly in complex or high-priority cases. Utilizes the College’s CRM (Technolutions Slate) and other systems to monitor recruitment activity, ensure data accuracy, and support data-informed decision-making. Supports Admission events in collaboration with the Director of Admission and Visit & Event staff.
Application Review Strategy & Process
Ensures consistency and fairness in application review practices across the admissions team. Reviews applications and renders admission decisions for assigned populations. Partners with the Director of Admission to assess and refine the admissions rubric and evaluation criteria. Leads training for counselors on application review processes to ensure consistency, equity, and adherence to institutional standards. Monitors application review workflow and supports timely completion of decisions.
Additional Operational and Systems Responsibilities
Serves as Slate CRM super user for the admission team; participates in ongoing training to maintain and expand system expertise. Partners with the Director of Admission to identify opportunities to optimize CRM usage, reporting, and data integrity. Leverages available data to inform recruitment strategies, evaluate effectiveness of outreach efforts, and support decision-making. Identifies and implements process improvements to enhance efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness across admissions operations. Keep current on admission and enrollment industry news, data, and trends. Support Saint Michael’s community initiatives: serve on institutional committees and participate in community initiatives.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 5+ years of work experience in college admission or related field
• Demonstrated experience in supervising, training, or managing staff
• Experience with enrollment strategy, data analysis, or admissions systems strongly preferred
Exhibits highly effective and compelling written, oral, and presentation skills Reads and interprets a wide range of information Familiarity with Microsoft Office products Slate Technolutions experience highly desirable Working knowledge of institutional systems such as Oracle and Colleague Must meet driver’s eligibility requirements as stated in the Saint Michael's College Vehicle Use Policy An offer of employment will be contingent upon the successful completion of background checks.
