Description

The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs to support organizational objectives. This role partners closely with business owners, development teams, and Quality Assurance to define requirements, design system enhancements, and ensure solutions align with business strategies. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, healthcare industry experience, and hands-on SQL expertise. Location: On‑site – 5 days per week Key Responsibilities Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs Document business requirements and assist stakeholders in defining project scope and objectives Develop and communicate system changes to meet business strategies Work extensively with Programming and Quality Assurance teams to ensure solutions are delivered as designed Facilitate the resolution of questions and issues throughout the development lifecycle Determine operational objectives by learning business functions, collaborating with end users, and evaluating output requirements Write detailed business specifications and obtain business sign-off Assess current system capabilities and design process and system improvements Recommend controls, identify issues, and create improved procedures Define project requirements, including milestones, phases, and deliverables; assist with forming project teams Perform daily, weekly, and monthly analyses of current processes using operational metrics Understand and communicate the operational impact of system or process changes Use data analysis to recommend improvements to senior management and actively participate in the implementation of approved changes Develop informative, actionable, and repeatable reports highlighting business trends and opportunities for improvement Conduct ad hoc analyses to investigate one-time or ongoing operational issues Evaluate competitor systems and processes; analyze comparative strengths and weaknesses Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience Healthcare industry experience required, preferably in claims processing Strong SQL experience required, including the ability to query DB2 databases on an AS400 platform Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Highly organized with excellent time-management skills Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities Detail-oriented, inquisitive, and data-driven Proven ability to build consensus, influence stakeholders, and drive operational change Benecard Services, LLC Benecard Services, LLC has been administering carve-out, fixed rate insured prescription drug benefit programs since 1990.
