    "description": "<h2>Department Overview</h2>\n<p>At the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, we are working to lift the burden of cancer from the world. Knight affiliates subscribe to three guiding principles: We are bold and supportive and work as a connected team in our fight to end cancer as we know it. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.</p>\n<p> The duties of this position are in support of the missions, goals and objectives of OHSU, the School of Medicine, the University hospitals and clinics and include:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Drive and participate in the research mission of the university, as applied to patients with <strong>multiple myeloma;</strong></li>\n <li>Participate in the education of medical students and house staff in accordance with assignments to the department by the Curriculum Committee and Chair.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>It is anticipated this position will be made up of the following components: Clinical, Teaching, and Service.</p>\n<h2>Function/Duties of Position</h2>\n<p>The faculty member will join the Myeloma Team and will collaborate closely with the transplant and cellular therapy programs. </p>\n<p> Responsibilities to include:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Management of patients with multiple myeloma in the outpatient setting</li>\n <li>Attending on the inpatient bone marrow/hematologic malignancy service with an emphasis on treating patients with lymphoma and multiple myeloma</li>\n <li>Shared responsibility for on-call coverage</li>\n <li>Case conferencing with multi-disciplinary teams</li>\n <li>Coordination of teaching rounds with Fellows and House-staff assigned to the inpatient or outpatient service</li>\n <li>Growing the myeloma clinical and research programs</li>\n <li>Fostering collaborative relationships with referring physicians and organizations</li>\n <li>Medical direction to CHM Data Managers and Nurse Coordinators</li>\n <li>Experience and expertise in the establishment and maintenance of comprehensive CHM databases</li>\n <li>Development and participation in clinical trials</li>\n <li>Participation in administrative committees and councils of OHSU as approved by the Chair and Division Head</li>\n <li>Engage in public service through consultative activities with non-university groups with knowledge and consent of the Chair and Division Head. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>MD, MD/PhD</li>\n <li>Licensed to practice medicine in Oregon</li>\n <li>Board certified in Internal Medicine</li>\n <li>Board eligible/certified in Hematology and/or oncology</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Candidates who are interested in longitudinal care of patients with multiple myeloma</li>\n <li>Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams across clinical, research, and academic settings</li>\n <li>Advanced training and clinical experience focused on the care of patients with myeloma, including:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Bone marrow transplantation</li>\n   <li>Clinical and/or translational research in hematologic malignancies</li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional Details</h2>\n<p>As an OHSU faculty member, you will access robust and competitive benefits for well-being and peace of mind.
