    "description": "<h2> </h2>\n<p>Weston & Sampson is seeking a Senior Resident Project Representative or Senior Construction Inspector to oversee and inspect utility/infrastructure construction projects in the Greater Boston area of Massachusetts. Construction includes installing multiple utility systems in a congested urban environment. This position offers meaningful long-term professional development within a dedicated and supportive team of experienced engineering and construction management professionals.</p>\n<h2> </h2>\n<p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Supervise subordinate consultant field staff.</li>\n <li>Review and evaluate Contractor’s work schedules and updates with the Project Manager.</li>\n <li>Assess current and near-term construction activities to identify and provide input on potential technical, schedule, budget, and communication challenges.</li>\n <li>Coordinate with abutters, the client, and office/design engineers. </li>\n <li>Assist the Project Manager and the client with negotiating claims for extra work/change orders.</li>\n <li>Attend regular site meetings</li>\n <li>Confirm the Contractor’s work complies with shop drawings, RFI’s, change orders and other agreed upon construction modifications</li>\n <li>Measure quantities of in-place work, observe quality of construction, and prepare daily records of construction work</li>\n <li>Record and report problems and failures to comply with contract documents. </li>\n <li>Review Contractor’s monthly payment estimates</li>\n <li>Maintain positive relationships with the client, municipal and utility owner representatives, and contractors.</li>\n <li>Some overtime may be required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>What you will bring:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction related field.</li>\n <li>10+ years of experience with horizontal construction of water/sewer/drain systems and related work.</li>\n <li>Experience with general construction inspection policies, procedures, and administrative requirements.</li>\n <li>Working knowledge and experience with interpreting contract documents, including compliance with prevailing safety regulations.</li>\n <li>Excellent public relations, written, and verbal communication skills.</li>\n <li>Strong organizational/time management skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to prepare and maintain electronic field records efficiently and accurately.</li>\n <li>Ability to work well with contractors, engineers, municipal representatives, and residents/business owners.</li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license</li>\n <li>Survey experience is a plus</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Salary Range: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00/year based on experience</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Weston & Sampson is an 100% employee-owned, full-service environmental and infrastructure consulting firm made up of more than 1,000 professionals, who work together to develop innovative, cost-effective solutions for our clients.
